Summary
New York Detective Dez Westin had come to Florida to retire. Haunted by his past, he only wants peace and quiet. The two things he will never have. First, he finds his talents for solving crime get bring him out of retirement, but into the cross hairs of a hit man determined to kill him. Next, a new widow comes to him for help as they both find themselves in over their head and fighting a crime syndicate. They may be the only ones that can protect each other.

this book has so much potential.
this book has potential, the biggest mark against it is the monotone of the narration, it really hurts this audio book, the beginning is great the build up is awesome but the climax kinda falters and falls flat , I had such high hopes for this book halfway in, really hoped that the author could pull it off, if only he had milked it and turned it in to a series, now it has a rushed climax and non-believeable finish.
on the bright side I enjoyed the extras that were in the story, I beleve this author has the talent to write great books and should get narration done by someone like Nick Sullivan.

Good Listen!
Both the author and narrator were new to me, and I find both are very talented. I loved the twists in this cozy mystery and did not see them coming. I liked the progression in this book and the imagery. The premise of the book was a little far-fetched, but added to the story. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would listen to more books by this author and narrator. Without giving away spoilers, the ending was great.
