Story
In 1987, four friends from London - Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway and Johnny Walker - took a weeklong holiday to Ibiza. What they saw there and brought back home would give rise to a new global music and counterculture movement. As the '80s drew to their close, with Thatcherism holding the nation tight in its grip, something funny was happening right across the jungle of Britain's nightlife scene. People were dressing down, not up, to go to clubs. And they were dancing right through the night armed seemingly with only bottles of water.

Lenny McLean was one of the deadliest bareknuckle fighters Britain has ever seen. He had dear, powerful friends, but he also had terrible enemies. So much so that he had two bullet wounds in his back - each from a different attack. He was also stabbed repeatedly - always from behind. But Lenny was also a warm, big-hearted grizzly bear of a man, whose main weakness was an overwhelming desire to put the welfare of his mates ahead of his own wellbeing.

Story
San Pedro is Bolivia's most notorious prison. Small-time drug smuggler Thomas McFadden found himself on the inside. Marching Powder is the story of how he navigated this dark world of gangs, drugs and corruption to come out on top. Thomas found himself in a bizarre world, the prison reflecting all that is wrong with South American society. Prisoners have to pay an entrance fee and buy their own cells (the alternative is to sleep outside and die of exposure); prisoners' wives and children often live inside, too; high-quality cocaine is manufactured and sold from the prison.

If you've heard any news report on the upsurge in knife crime recently, you'll have heard the words 'county lines'. From the street slang that was once known as 'going country' - it sees powerful drugs gangs supplying outside of the capital through an underworld 'emerging markets enterprise', using children as young as 12 and vulnerable men and women to do their dirty work. Teens whose bereaved relatives assume they led ordinary lives, who tell us they were 'good kids', suddenly end up stabbed to death with no seeming motive.

There's a reason why this book has 5 star reviews
- By SheRed on 06-07-20
Summary
It’s not every day you come across an autobiography which starts out with learning how to overcome sexual abuse as a child, how to become an international playboy who built the most famous boutique hotel in the world, where people like Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Julio Iglesias to name a few, called a home away from home, add in the odd shipwreck or two and more than a few thousand sexual partners and misdemeanors along the way, and when your finished, you'll agree that this book is not just another great listen but its perhaps the greatest story every told.

Loved it. An example of how life should be lived.
When I say how life should be lived I mean lived the way you want. Doesn't have to be a hedonistic sex fueled rampage through life just however you want to live it. As quoted by Mr Pike himself "too many people live a mundane life stuck in a rut". Certainly made me think about my own life which makes it a great read especially when coming into my forties and thinking my best years are behind me. Tony definitely proves that you can keep going with any lifestyle you like well into twice my age and proves that anything is possible if you work for it.

A crazy memoir of success , Hedonistic living , crazy partying with the rich and famous , what a guy Mr Tony Pike was .
Great book , proper in-depth stories of fun / frolics with quite a number mega stars names ,if your book is that of an easy read into famous Folks behind the scenes lifestyles , then this is definitely up your street . Didn’t agree with previous review of bad spelling in this book , I had the audible version and didn’t hear one misspelt word .

Tony Pikes story was very interesting from start to finish. He experienced a lot as a young boy and even more as a man. Safe to say he too can say he’s lived quite the life many people do not get to experience by seeing the world like he has.
