Summary

It’s not every day you come across an autobiography which starts out with learning how to overcome sexual abuse as a child, how to become an international playboy who built the most famous boutique hotel in the world, where people like Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Julio Iglesias to name a few, called a home away from home, add in the odd shipwreck or two and more than a few thousand sexual partners and misdemeanors along the way, and when your finished, you'll agree that this book is not just another great listen but its perhaps the greatest story every told.

Debauchery Central!

Had never heard of Tony Pike until he died, but what I discovered thereafter fascinated me, so I bought the audiobook. An interesting story about a rollercoaster of a life, with much debauchery and scandal along the way. I really wish I'd stayed at Pikes in the 80s!

Fairly involving book but ...

Fairly involving book but Tony comes across as such a unpleasant man. I especially struggled with him describing his relatioships with his kids as good, when in reality he barely saw them and barely mentioned them in the book. Also, he brags a lot and his desperate need to be noticed and in limelight is very apparent. More apparent than he is willing to admit. However, he is not a horrible person and usually doesnt talk badly about people, what I particularly appreciated. I did not like the way he treated his wifes/girlfriends and the way he broke up with them.

Superb. Thoroughly entertaining

I never normally review books but this was utterly brilliant. The narration is spot on and really captures the sentiments in the stories. There are several chapters in this book where I defy you not to laugh out loud as I did one evening. Heartily. At the same time some of the chapters are more thoughtful but always engaging. I took a risk on this book and you know what? If you were around in the eighties and you have been to Ibiza then you’ll love love love this book. Enjoy!

what a crazy life Tony has lived

his story is fantastic lived a full life. full of highs and lows. only thing I would say is the narrator could be better, or it was edited badly. but still enjoyable

Worth a miss

A disappointing performance and inconsistent accent which unfortunately botched from the riveting story of Tony's life and times.

Could not stop listening

Tony Pikes story was very interesting from start to finish. He experienced a lot as a young boy and even more as a man. Safe to say he too can say he’s lived quite the life many people do not get to experience by seeing the world like he has.
