About this listen

"I'm no Mr. Perfect... but for Noah, I want to be."

It was just supposed to be a normal day at the Spruce crafts festival.
Instead, I accidentally save the life of my childhood crush Noah Reed.
And he has no idea how I feel at all.

He is adorable, tragically introverted, and frustratingly clueless about emotion.
Can't he see the longing in my eyes every time I look at his sweet face?
Doesn't he get it when I drop every dang sign there is under the Texas sun
that I have feelings for the guy?

To make matters worse, the mayor is organizing a pageant
featuring our town's hottest bachelors... and I'm number one on the list.

But I'm not interested in any other guys.
I'm seeing the bigger picture with Noah.

I'm hardly an example of perfection. I'm no Mr. Perfect.
But I'd better find a way to tell Noah how I feel soon
before this whole thing gets out of hand.
If it hasn't already...

This is the first book by Daryl Banner I’ve listened to with him as the narrator, and he does a fabulous job. It’s great to hear his interpretation of the characters that reappear throughout the series. Cole and Noah are both very likeable MCs and fit together beautifully. The book is also long enough to fully describe key moments in the story, including from both characters’ pov. Very sweet, loved it.

My fave Spruce Texas book so far

The first six books of the series were utterly amazing. Full of love, romance and fun with an insight into all the lives of Spruce residents with each book interlinking the stories.
The narration brought each book to life and I fell in love with the characters Darryl had created so wonderfully!!!! HOWEVER......
book seven was weak and I hoped this would be a glitch. Sadly not the case. Despite there being two adorable main characters, the story waffled on almost as if the author had run out of imagination. I hate saying this because I love Darryl Banner so much as an author. The narration totally ruined it for me! The main people, Cole and Noah were depicted adorably but the "voices" of other characters, particularly the women were totally cringeworthy. At many points I was going to call it a day it was so bad. For example, Nadine Strong's voice I had become used to with the other incredible narrators but sadly Darryl couldn't pull it off.
I feel really sad to say that this book and the previous were ruined by terrible narration and has actually ruined my experience of Spruce, Texas!!

To Darryl, not that you will ever read this......... I am truly sorry!
You are a very talented author but not narrator 😢😢

EXCRUCIATING!!
