Summary

In this prequel to the apocalyptic horror series, an overnight gig turns into a nightmare when zombies start coming for blood.

After a long day on the job, house painter Gus Berry is looking forward to relaxing and spending some time with his girlfriend before returning to work the next day. But none of that is going to happen.

Gus’s coworker Benny has found them a painting gig at the local Mollymart East, and it has to be done by morning. If Gus and his crew can complete the work on time, it could mean huge business with a major grocery store chain.

But as Gus and his fellow painters are about to discover, the much-anticipated zombie apocalypse doesn’t start with a bang; it starts on a Monday. And barricading themselves inside a megastore isn’t the end—it’s only the beginning . . .

The conversion of Gus

It was good to catch up with Gus. The Mountain Man story was one of the better “zombie “ apocalypse type books I’ve read. I was a bit apprehensive about Prequel but I thou rally enjoyed listening to Gus’s survival evolution & for those who know his pal the Captain 😜
It would be interesting how some of those in the shopping centre got on, or didn’t.
Lastly, missed the
story on its completion, it would be interesting to see how their getting off and how the world is getting on?

Magnificent Prequel

Really loved the original trilogy. Funny, exciting, sad and thoughtful and was sad when it ended. Got this as soon as it came out and narrated by the always excellent R. C. Bray. This book was so good in setting up the events of the the first book and showing how Gus became the man he was when we first met him.
It's great to get a bit of background to Gus and I found myself laughing out loud at both the writing and the perfect narration. Get this and the other mountain man books, they are so good.
