Summary

Penguin presents the audio edition of More Than Enough, written and read by Elaine Welteroth.

In this part-manifesto, part-memoir, the revolutionary editor who infused social consciousness into the pages of Teen Vogue explores what it means to come into your own - on your own terms.

Elaine Welteroth has climbed the ranks of media and fashion, shattering ceilings along the way. In this riveting and timely memoir, the groundbreaking editor unpacks lessons on race, identity and success through her own journey, from navigating her way as the unstoppable child of an unlikely interracial marriage in small-town California to finding herself on the front lines of a modern movement for the next generation of change makers.

Welteroth moves beyond the headlines and highlight reels to share the profound lessons and struggles of being a barrier breaker across so many intersections. As a young boss and the only black woman in the room, she's had enough of the world telling her - and all women - they're not enough. As she learns to rely on herself by looking both inward and upward, we're ultimately reminded that we're more than enough.

The book I needed

As a twenty something, I absolutely loved this book! It was relatable on every front - school, work, life, love, the transition into real life adulting (read moving out of home and paying bills), the pressure to succeed at an early age, the damage stress and toxic work environments do to our bodies.... I could go on and on! Elaine didn't just read her book out loud, she told her story. It felt like catching up with a good friend, sharing tea and gossip and deep heart to heart conversations. And having her parents read their parts was a really nice touch. I'll definitely listen to this book again and again.

The things we deal with & Overcome being black!

Life lessons, overcome, strength, tenacity, success, support and being a black woman or a mixed race girl...
Wow, thanks you for sharing your ever so inspirational story. Although the writer is American, I definitely feel a lot of young British black or mixed raced girls can relate.

Although it’s not easy in the UK and opportunities are even more scarce for women of colour, we gotta keep pressing on! I read this book at the right time. Couldn’t stop listening to it. I finished it in a matter of days❤️

Shared it with everyone I know!

I found Elaine's story quite powerful and at the same time relatable to my own as a young woman navigating my way through adulting and defining my own legacy and contribution in life! This book is full of anecdotes and lots of aha moments that are applicable to everyday life situations. Definitely one to revisit every once in a while.

I have to admit, i didn't really know who was Elaine and I thought she wiyld be a bit young for an autobiography... I was wrong! Her struggles, her fights, her dreams, her failures and success makes this book a must to listen to for ALL women!
