About this listen

Modern Man in Search of a Soul is the classic introduction to the thought of Carl Jung. Along with Freud and Adler, Jung was one of the chief founders of modern psychiatry. In this book, Jung examines some of the most contested and crucial areas in the field of analytical psychology: dream analysis, the primitive unconscious, and the relationship between psychology and religion.

Critic reviews

"No one who is interested in modern thought can afford to miss this brilliant, literally soul-searching volume." ( New York Times)

I struggled with some of the detail but found the overall meaning interesting and thought provoking. Despite my ignorance in part, I felt an understanding and felt uplifted by the wisdom of his words. I intrinsically recognised the truth in his words through my own experiences and felt reassured in this.

An interesting listen

Very insightful, he covers so many base concepts in this book in his perfect Jung manner.

Jung is a great mind, his work is so profound yet eloquently presented and structured.
beautiful book that everyone should read if you think there is more in life than just the material or objective state of things and seek to know more on the mind and tour awareness .. i recommend you read the dhamma and then read jung.

Excellent

An incredibly intelligent, and insightful man, C G Jung has presented his own findings and observations of humanity in a format which is relatively easy to understand, with a limited knowledge of psychology. This is part of the
recommended reading list from Prof. Jordan B Peterson, for those studying psychology, and I feel that the points dealt with in this book are essential for a full understanding of human behavior.

Great Book

It is a very interesting, but quite difficult book to digest. The monotonous voice of the narrator does not help with focus and understanding at all. I found myself drifting away on many occasions, needing to rewind a minute or two back every now and then.
For me personally (I'm just an average person interested in human psyche and self-development)I feel I should approach Jung in a text format rather than audio version. Great book nonetheless. (Jung) 1/0 (Me), Jung won this one. :)

Good, but difficult to follow in audio format.
