having read rise and fall; this book just isn't as good. it's focus is too tight, brushes over some fairly important stuff, dismisses others, and generally suffers for not telling at least in part Sammy's story at the same time. generally when reading books about the mafia that cover the same events; you get a different angle, a new perspective on what went down. this does not. save the time and read rise and fall instead
