Story
When I arrived at my uncle's house, I expected my relatives to be like me - outcast sorcerers who don't practice magic. I was right about the sorcery, but wrong about everything else. Rule two: Don't listen to the demon. My uncle chose a far deadlier power. He calls creatures of darkness into our world, binds them into service contracts, and sells them to the highest bidder. And I'm supposed to act like I don't know how illegal and dangerous it is. Rule three: Don't talk to the demon. All I had to do was keep my nose out of it.

Story
One day, I’m married, living in Seattle, and magic isn’t real. The next, I’m divorced and living in the guest room of my ex’s hotter-than-sin cousin’s place in Savannah and talking to an animated skeleton named Robert. I have to admit, Robert isn’t my worst date. At 41, I didn’t think I’d be starting over. But I’ll be damned if my ex thinks I’m down and out because he pulled a fast one on me. When a job comes my way that offers me a chance to use my childhood training in the shadow world, I take it.

"I am a what?"
If you like cute, funny books then this series is for you. This book starts with poor Amelia loses her boyfriend, her job and her apartment all in one day. What horrible luck or is it. She then finds out she inherits her aunts business and house properties. She finds out her aunts business is baking which Amelia is horrible at. Thank Goodness there is someone to help her. She inherits two cats(familiars) that belonged to her aunt. A man dies in her store. He is actually a murder victim. Amelia and friends start investigating the death themselves. First the police think it is the cup cakes, then natural cause then find out he was poisoned by rat poison from somewhere( not the cup cakes). Will Amelia and friends fine out who killed the man. While all this is going on she finds out she is a witch. What next.
I look forward reading more of these books. I hope more will be put into audio form. I received this book as a gift from the author.

Great Book!
Any additional comments?
This is a great book; this is the first book in the Kitchen Witch series written by Morgana Best and narrated by Tiffany Dougherty. Amelia Spelled has had the worst week ever, she loses her job, her boyfriend dumps her, and then she is evicted from her apartment. She believes that her luck is about to change when she finds out she has inherited her estranged aunts Victorian house, to mysterious cats, and her aunts cake store. Amelia soon discovers that her aunt was a witch. When a man is murdered in the store, she puts her sleuthing skills to work to find the killer. If you are looking for a fun mystery with great characters then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this great new series
This book has a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. This was such a great read and full of surprises.
The narrator Tiffany Dougherty did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Awful Narrator
I feel bad for the author... I couldn't stand listening to the Narrator. Cadences all wrong, most sentences ran into each other and a true lack of story telling abilities. Although I wanted to know more about the story, I couldn't take it anymore, I stopped after chapter 6....
