Summary

Will Ella ever survive the move to Seattle? With her so-hippie parents. In the rain. With no friends, belongings, nada, zip?

Ella Jensen is an old soul stuck in a teenager's body, and she doesn't make friends easily. In her senior year of high school, her family moves across the country to Seattle, turning her already-small world upside down. She feels alone and lost....

But then she finds a box of decades-old love letters between Martha and Frederick; she becomes best friends with her tiny new neighbor, Miss T; and she gets her first kiss from Hans, a very symmetric German exchange student.

But summer ends abruptly when she is forced to make a decision that will change her life. Forever.

A warmhearted and humorous coming-of-age story, Lost in Seattle is a celebration of family, love, friendship, and that special bond between daughters, mothers, and women across generations.

If you love a fast-paced story with snappy dialogue and lots of humor and heart, this is the audiobook for you.

I live this!!!

When I first started listening to Eleanor’s story... I wasn’t sure... I knew I’d listen, and I knew I’d finish... but I wasn’t sure about it.

I was very pleasantly surprised!! I love these crazy, silly, complicated characters!!!

This entire story kept me riveted! Charlotte Roth spun a tale that kept me listening and makes me want to rush right into book 2! It was worth every single minute I spent listening and I can’t wait to find out what happens next with Eleanor and her family!!!

If you haven’t listened.. do it!! Hope Dorman is the perfect voice for every one of these characters!!!

I enjoyed this story

Lost in Seattle is the 1st book in the Miss Apple Pants series and was an amazing coming of age story with mystery, humor, friendship, drama and so much more. The story was well-written and layered with two interesting stories woven together and will evoke a range of emotions from you. This captivating tale will grab your attention and hold it until the very end ensuring you enjoy every moment of it. I would highly recommend this novel to all everyone.
I listened to the audible version of this novel and I loved. It was narrated by Hope Dorman who did an excellent job. I loved her portrayal of the characters and they she was able to give varying voices to the characters. She really brought the story to life and I enjoyed listening to her narration.

This is a great coming of edge book! I loved the story-line and can't wait to see where this series will go!

Not as fast paced as I expected

I would recommend this book to readers/listeners who like a gradual progression to a story. I had a lot of trouble getting into the beginning of the book, starting and stopping it to listen to another book first at least three times since it started slowly. I would also warn listeners that the topics in the book got increasingly more mature with discussions of fertility/pregnancy/adoption/abortion and my personal pet peeve - lies and secrets. The characters definitely aren't perfect and don't necessarily learn from mistakes.

The narration of the book was good, although I noticed a couple places where the audio repeated itself.

There's not a cliffhanger for the next book in the series and this can be read as a stand alone novel, but there are definitely unresolved issues.

Love the characters!

Wow. This was a long book but I feel like it really kept my attention most of the time. There were a lot of details and a lot happening in this book. They had their lives they were living in now and they found some old letters in some old stuff they acquired and read those love letters which was part of the story also. So we had all different age groups and a hand full of different characters but they were pretty easy to keep up with. The narration was great. I recommend this book. HEA. No cheating.

This one got me

This one just touched me in such a way, and can't even tell you why or how. Buy this book was just so good. Lately, I've been trying to avoid coming of age books, but this one was a good one and glad I did not avoid! Narration was wonderful, but maybe a guy should have done the guy part? But it was still very good!

Miss Apple Pants

This book has so much going on, but you will love every second. It brought out so many emotions from me and yet it left me happy in the end but asking for more. I will definitely be looking for the next in this series.

Coming Of Age Novel

Lost in Seattle by Charlotte Roth is book one in The Miss Apple Pants Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Hope Dorman.

This is the second book of Charlotte’s that I have read and it definitely won’t by last. Her writing just pulls you into the story and you can’t stop reading until the very end.

Hope did a great job on the narration she really brought the story to life. However, I did have to listen to it between 1.25 – 1.50 speed otherwise it was really slow reading in my opinion.

I can’t wait to dive into the second book Lost in Love.

Heart felt story

This book is a wonderful story. Love letters written by an unknown couple that the readers really connect with on more than one level. I was surprised to find myself so enthralled by this. Written well. A fantastic performance from Hope.
