Summary
The life-changing best seller - over one and a half million copies sold!
Available as an unabridged audio download for the first time.
This audiobook includes eight guided meditations which are repeated at the end of the recording so they're easy to find. To listen just to the meditations, please skip to track 16. The meditations are also included within the audiobook so you can also listen to them as you go along.
Authoritative, beautifully written and much-loved by many, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World has become a word-of-mouth best seller and global phenomenon. It reveals a set of simple yet powerful practices that you can incorporate into daily life to break the cycle of anxiety, stress unhappiness and exhaustion. It promotes the kind of happiness that gets into your bones and allows you to meet the worst that life throws at you with new courage.
Mindfulness is based on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Co-developed by Professor Mark Williams of Oxford University, MBCT is recommended by the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and is as effective as drugs for preventing depression. But, equally, it works for the rest of us who aren't depressed but who are struggling to keep up with the relentless demands of the modern world.
By investing just a few minutes each day, this classic guide to mindfulness will put you back in control of your life once again.

Takes You To A World Where Calm Resides.
This is not one of those books where it has a beginning & end, then you think, "O.K., onto the next book, this a book where it drips into your psychi', a bit at a time.
Yes, you can listen all the way through in one swoop, then you realise that really you didn't take it all in, & so you go back & reread.
Some may find it repetitive, yet to firmly get hold of the teachings in this book you have to read, go back, reread let it really sink into your consciousness.
Here are people who understand how the brain works, how it can become confused & in that confusion can decide "Enough is enough", hence your brain becomes I'll, now unlike other illnesses of the physical body the mental body is something to be shyed away from, therefore Professor Mark & Dr. Danny, teach us that there is nothing to be ashamed of.
I shall keep returning again & again, because each time I listen I shall receive renewed energy, I shall hear something that perhaps didn't sink in the last time I listened.
I would heartly recommend this book with heartfelt honesty to anyone seeking clarity in this claustrophobic world.

Very helpful
it's useful to have a reminder of how critical & judging we can be upon ourselves. And how to recognise that with compassion & empathy

Promises relief but expects 20 minutes 2x per day
For people suffering from depression 20 minutes per day is quite the ask. Balance app has better narrated meditations

A very useful practical guide to meditation
The book is perfect because it is made to the audio format. It combines the theory with the practical guided meditation tracks. It is structured to be followed as a course, so with just a little commitment one could complete it easily. Said that, meditation is not going to solve all your life problems, but you will learn about yourself and your body. It is also a good reminder so we enjoy all the things we take for granted.

Superb mental health handbook
I have had this audio book for about a year and listen to it over and over. The final chapters are each meditation repeated and I dip in and out of these time and again. Strangely, I never find them repetitive but somehow I discover some new aspect to explore every time. The voice is soothing and the timings are perfect. The authors are knowledgable and the subject matter within the chapters is relatable and easy to apply. Wonderful listening and thoroughly therapeutic.

I’m so glad I started this
Mindlefulness can work at any level you want to take it but, to get it’s full effect, do the full 8 week course. I’m on week 3 and I’m not the same person I was before week 1. My attitude to everything seems to be changing and angst can be hugely reduced by a three minute breathing space. A gentle, mindful life is a better life.

A guide into a calmer, more centered life.
A really useful look into both the science, studies and the practical elements behind mindfulness. With a set 8 week programme to follow that unravels itself in a logical way that enables the reader to progress their understanding and practice at a rate that allows step by step futhering of knowledge and ability. Read by one of the authors in a calm and soothing way and meaning that the narration was logical and clearly in line with the way in which the book/programme is meant to play out.
