About this listen

Which mistakes can never be fixed? Would you fight for a five-year relationship after your lover's had a drunken one-night stand? A slow-burn lesbian workplace romance that asks what you'd do when love isn't always easy, neat, or simple.

The past twelve months have seen Alex and her girlfriend, Terri, slowly drift apart. The awful revelation of Terri's one drunken night of betrayal shows Alex just how far apart they are. The more they fight, the less Alex even wants to try.

On a business trip to Canada, Alex meets Justine and, over the course of one pivotal evening, a connection is formed that shatters everything Alex thought she knew about herself. Returning to London, she's faced with choices that will irrevocably change her life.

Now her heart is torn between loyalty to the old and new beginnings in a long-distant relationship.

An uplifting, beautiful novel that has heat, honesty, messy lives, and real-life women.

Contains mature themes.

After loving the book I was looking forward to listening to this story. I was not disappointed.
Great story, great narration.
Again I became invested in the character’s story.
Would love a sequel A.L Brooks :)

Loved it!

I've never felt in over 1000 saphfic books so sad for both MCs, thier situations (trigger cheating), a short meeting of instant attraction while one travels to Canada on business for a week from UK, months of regret it couldn't be more, almost to last 2 chapters of the seemingly impossible one might emigrate.
both have the support of a bff, but one has to deal with an ex.
high angst anticipation has never had me want to skip to end for the outcome, which I find brilliant in the writing.

sad

First book i've read from A.L. Brooks. This is a well written lesbian love story that offers much more than just love and cheating etc but all the ups and downs in relationships. Narrated beautifully by Avery Reid.

An enjoyable easy read!

Sadly as an English person I found the English accent unrealistic unfortunately I found it grating with no natural flow in the language, at times it was abit like listening to Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. It was a shame I think the story would have been more credible with a better accent.
