Story
Dustin Graves can’t get a break. Murdering an Old One was only the beginning. Enraged, the Eldest have answered with searing rains of ivory fire from the stars, threatening Valero and the world itself. The madness must be stopped. Ancient gods of prophecy, death, and darkness themselves answer the call for battle. But the secret to saving the world lies closer to Dustin's heart than he knows: a ritual sacrifice, meant to end the suffering. After all...what’s one life against the fate of billions?

Story
All vampires suck. Sterling just happens to be very good at it. Vainglorious vampire Sterling is forced to trade his big city hedonism for a trip to a sleepy mountain town, where mangled dead bodies have been discovered. Soon he’s entangled with snooty vampire nobles, territorial werewolves, and a society of law-enforcing sorcerers. The locals aren’t so bad, like the luscious young lady at the fruit shop, or the hunky electrician whose smile sends out sparks. But they’re distractions from the hunt for the mountain murderer.

I can't summon magic. I can't fight with my hands or my fists. I just don't belong here, and Jackson Lancaster keeps reminding me every single chance he gets. This boy is the most insufferable, intolerable, unbearable, judgmental person to ever have the right to be that gorgeous. I don’t care how sexy his British accent is, or that literally everyone else on campus adores him. He hates me, and the feeling is mutual.

I was nobody. No matter how hard I tried, I never fit in with anyone at my high school. Now I know why. Turns out I'm a witch. A scary powerful one, too. Except The Coven that claimed me won't teach me how to use my magic. Suddenly, I'm selected by the Goddess to hunt down a mythical locket needed to save the world from destruction. The only person who actually tries to help me is the alarmingly attractive Tennessee. He has immeasurable power and breathtaking mismatched eyes. I'm drawn to him on a level I can't explain...and he's forbidden from getting too close to me.

Summary
The walls of our world have shattered. The Eldest are coming.

All signs point to the awakening of the cosmic horrors known only as the Eldest, and Dustin desperately needs immense arcane power to stop them. The quickest way is to offer himself to the Midnight Convocation - a grand assembly of the entities of night and shadow.
The only question is: Who gets to claim his soul?
If you like snarky heroes, snappy dialogue, and a bit of grit and gore, you’ll love the fifth book in Nazri Noor’s series of urban fantasy novels. Explore the Darkling Mage universe and discover Midnight’s Son today.

I couldn't stop listening, really enjoyed it. I'm not an expert or critic I just go on how well it kept me enthralled and if it made me laugh, any book which makes me laugh out loud while wearing headphones making me look a nutter always gets 5 stars. Thank you Nazri.

Strong escalation in this latest instalment
The problems for both Dustin and the world as a whole continue to ramp up in this latest instalment of the series with rifts intruding on reality and those in charge of magical enforcement deciding that the best way to defend against this threat is to nuke Dustin from orbit.
Such a dire situation leads to desperate plans and Dustin decides that gaining sufficient power to stop these rifts is worth sacrificing his soul in the process, but will he even survive the process of gaining that power.
As expected by now, this narrator delivers a strong performance, bringing the main character and an extensive supporting cast to life even more and helping to enhance the enjoyment of the book.
Overall, another enjoyable instalment in this series with a good plot and interesting characters.

Another great installment!
I had a great time with this book! I was excited when I learned that there was a new audiobook available in this series and I couldn't wait to get started with it. This is the fifth book in the Darkling Mage series which is a series that really should be read in order since each book builds on the events in earlier installments. I was really eager to see what Dustin and his friends would do next and I was not disappointed. This was a very entertaining book.
The characters in this series are very well done and I like the fact that in this stage in the series, I feel like I really know them. Dustin is smart, brave, and tries to do what is right. He also has a great sense of humor which helps lighten the mood of the story and is quite entertaining. I like the way that we have seen his relationships grow and change over the course of the series. I really look forward to catching up with all of the key players in this story.
This installment was really exciting. The entire world is in jeopardy and Dustin is the one that has a chance to make things right. It seems that he is up against incredible odds and one task seems like it will be absolutely impossible but that does not stop Dustin from trying. I had no idea how things would work out and I was more than a little worried for Dustin several times in the story.
Luke Daniels does an amazing job with this series. He really has been able to bring Dustin and the rest of the characters to life. I think that he is able to add a lot of excitement to the story and he delivers the humorous parts of the book expertly. I feel like Luke Daniels is the perfect narrator for this series and I really enjoyed my time with this book.
I would recommend this book to others. Nazri Noor has created an exciting world filled with wonderful characters. This book was very entertaining and I am already looking forward to the next audiobook in this wonderful series.
I received a review copy of this audiobook from the author.

WOW! Just WOW!
Just when you thought it wasn't possible, Nazri hits you with another great book! As with all of Nazri's great writing, the story line is fresh and new as it picks up where the last book left off! Dustin is back and he has a problem. Rifts are opening up everywhere, and when they do, Dustin is near as dark forces emerge. The Eldritch are trying to come through, and if that were not enough, someone is trying to kill him.Dustin has power, but needs more. Only the Midnight Convocation may be able to help him. The problem is, it may cost him his soul.
In this installment, Dustin explores and learns more about his power. The world building expands as we begin to learn a lot more about the Gods, the Eldritch, and the Lorica. There is more drama, intrigue, and danger but it does not change our hero's snarky outlook on it all!
Trust in Dustin!

Best one yet!
As much as I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series and expected to enjoy this one also I was blown away. What an imagination this author has. I wasn’t sure how the story line could go on without getting repetitive but this was surprising. I love how all the previous characters got wrapped into this story and especially how it ended with the hero finally embracing his future. Now I want another installment. The narration of Luke Daniels adds just the perfect tone to all the characters but especially the hero. Great job.
