Summary

"Listeners will be transported to the small Southern town of Wicklow by the drawls and laid-back pacing of the narrators.... This is a beautiful story of family, love, and forgiveness." (AudioFile Magazine, Earphones Award winner)

Heather Webber's Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe is a captivating blend of magical realism, heartwarming romance, and small-town Southern charm.

Nestled in the mountain shadows of Alabama lies the little town of Wicklow. It is here that Anna Kate has returned to bury her beloved Granny Zee, owner of the Blackbird Café.

It was supposed to be a quick trip to close the café and settle her grandmother’s estate, but despite her best intentions to avoid forming ties or even getting to know her father’s side of the family, Anna Kate finds herself inexplicably drawn to the quirky Southern town her mother ran away from so many years ago, and the mysterious blackbird pie everybody can’t stop talking about.

As the truth about her past slowly becomes clear, Anna Kate will need to decide if this lone blackbird will finally be able to take her broken wings and fly.

Absolutely fabulous

A lovely read. Really enjoyed the twists and turns. Would’ve loved a little more of an ending for the Phoebe and Mr Cat. Leaves it nicely open for their return 😊

Slow and steady

This story unwinds very gently around the characters in a small town. Don’t be in a hurry even though some of the detail is tedious. Satisfying ending and very well read.

Midnight at the Blackbird Café is an absolute delight

I loved everything about this book, especially the way it was red. The narrator was absolutely fantastic.

It was a delightful, slightly surreal story. There were lots of twists and turns, but everything turned out really well in the end for that I am most grateful because I loved all the characters. If you want a lovely dreamy book to help you pass the time this is for you.

Heartwarming a auditable slice of warm pie

A slow burning heartwarming story with a pinch of magic. Not my usual choice but I will be reading some of the authors other books now for sure.
