About this listen
Welcome to Midnight Fae Academy.
Home of the Dark Arts.
Vampires.
And cruelly handsome fae.
A forbidden bite led to my capture and recruitment.
There are no flowers here.
No life. Only death.
I’m an Earth Fae who doesn’t belong here.
They can play their little mind games all they want, but I'm going to find a way back to my elemental world. Even if it kills me.
Except, Headmaster Zephyrus is one step ahead of my every move.
Prince Kolstov won’t stop cornering me.
And Shadow - the reason I’m in this damn mess to begin with - haunts my dreams.
My affinity for the earth is dying and being replaced by something more sinister. Something powerful. Something deadly.
The Midnight Fae believe this is my fate.
They claim that I was “recruited” for a purpose.
To battle a rising presence. Or to die trying.
I don’t owe them a damn thing. But if I have to pass their trials to find my way home, then so be it. I survived a plague and far worse in the Elemental Fae realm. An ominous energy? Please. What a joke.
Give it your best shot. I’m waiting.
And don’t you dare bite me. Or, I’ll make you regret it.
Author's note: This is a dark paranormal reverse harem trilogy with bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) elements. Despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, a.k.a. Shade, guarantees it. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.
©2019 Lexi C. Foss (P)2020 Lexi C. FossI loved the different narrators, though at times a couple sounded a little tinny it didn't detract from the emotion fulled performances.
Addictive plot!

I not only liked the flow and the way this story unfolded, but I like knowing there's more to come. There is already so much going on and yet more to learn which I am super excited about. This story was awesome and attention holding from the start to the jaw dropping finish.
The narrators were beyond fantastic. There were new to me voices and some of my favorites. I loved how all the chapters were handled with the narration with each main character having a distinct tone, if not their own narrator. The multi cast story telling style is really growing on me and it was really well done here.

Great spin off!

The Midnight Fae practice the Dark Arts, drink blood and are definitely walking the fine line between evil and good. A bite creates a mating bond and when Earth Fae was walking away from a stood up date on Earth she runs into Shadow, who takes a bite and catapults Princess Aflora's life into a world so different from her own.
Lexi C. Foss is a world building genius and I, as someone that usually struggles with complete world building, didn't struggle with it for a moment. I was immersed into it in the same way that I was drawn into the story and didn't want to stop listening. In fact, when the audiobook ended in felt a sense of loss. I needed more. I knew that the book ended on a cliffhanger, but it hit hard and the cliffhanger is a good one. I see Lexi's name as the author and I know that I am in for a real treat. She hasn't let me down yet.
The audiobook has a fantastic cast of narrators who all do an outstanding voice. Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams, Gregory Salinas, Rich Miller, Lessa Lamb. The choice of narrators was a great one. The voices work wonderfully together and individually they are all hugely talented and their voice acting is incredible. Never over acted, just on point in each scene.
In each and every way this is a fantastic audiobook. Wow!

OMG, first I need to talk about the perfectly, amazing, brilliant multicast narration, it was perfection, it's really well done and flawless, truly enjoyable, all of the narrators did such an amazing work. The cast was just perfect for each character:
Kale Williams as Kols, he is the perfect Kols, I truly enjoy all of his narrations and this was no exception.
Rich Miller as Zeph. It's my first time listening to him, but wow he has a truly great voice, so deep and srong, that suit Zeph to perfection.
Gregory Salinas as Shade. I love that he was cast as Shade, his voice just suits Shade's playful, carefree attitude, it was brillant.
Sarah Puckett as Aflora. Well Sarah is by far one of my favourite female narrators, and she keeps proving why with this performance of Aflora, she is terrific bringing every emotion of her to live.
Lessa Lamb as Ella. I was so glad that Lessa Lamb came back as her roll of Ella for this book, I really love her performance of Ella in Ella's Masquerade and this book wouldn't have been the same without her voicing Ella.
Now, for the story. I've tried so hard to stay away from any post regarding MFA to avoid spoiling myself, I wanted to go in blind to get the full experience, and it was so worth it. The story is great, it capture me from the beginning and I couldn't stop listening. I needed to figure out what was going to happen, how would all of them would become mates because I just didn't have a clue how that was going to happen, and GAH of course it was done brilliantly.
But wait... That ending, that cliffhanger... Why? Why Shade? Why, why why?
Now I have to wait patiently for the second book to come out on audio, and trying to stay away of any spoilers for the other books.
