The style of writing just spoke to me and kept me interested all the way through.

Full of engaging characters, mythical creatures and mysteries. Some of the twists at the end seem a little TOO convenient and I’m not entirely sure they marry with earlier events but I liked the story anyway. I agree with another reviewer - this heroine has a rather strange relationship with her age. I understand it’s partially due to the damage of an abusive marriage but still seems extreme e.g. when referencing her ability to drive - she’s 41 not 81! The narration is good and the story is fun - looking forward to the next book

Was comfortable and fun reading. My only dislike was the over use of ‘himself’. I understand why it was used like that but it just made for irritating repetition in parts.
