Summary

Some vampires have trouble figuring out how they want to spend eternity, but playboy Michael Odell isn't one of them. He knows exactly what he wants: fine wines and beautiful women fuel his passion and he's made it his mission to sample as many of either as he can. Fate has other ideas. One night, on his way home, Michael discovers a woman lying face-down in an alley, who is losing the fight to live. There's only one way of saving her: The Ritual. Little does Michael know that this little act of mercy is going to change his life forever and before long he finds himself falling for the curvy stranger.

Anna doesn't remember how she ended up discarded at death's door in a dark alley, only that she woke up there. She doesn't even know her last name. After coming face-to-face with her gorgeous rescuer, she passes out again and finds herself in a lavish mansion with a new lease on eternal life.

Who - or more importantly, what - is she now? And the people who tried to kill her - why were they after her? Anna is determined to figure it all out for herself. But before her questions are answered, she has to learn that even in this new immortal existence, it's good to have friends - and perhaps a lover - by your side.

All books in the Vampires of London series are standalone.

Vampire Romance with a touch of suspense

I personally think the best thing about a series is the fact that the reader gets to visit with characters first encountered in a previous book. Though the subsequent books are often stand alone, there is a sense of continuity and plot development. New characters are introduced, previous characters develop further and change, and the reader finds him/herself committed to the story and the series. The Vampires of London series is much like this. While Lorelei Moone has used some of the traditional characteristics of vampires for her protagonists, she has also made her characters a bit different, allowing the reader to unearth new developments as the series continues.

Michael's Soul Mate is a quick listen, not just because it isn't long, but because it is fast paced. The plot is concentrated into a few short days/nights that take the characters through the streets (and beneath) London as lives and relations change. In fact, the story is about finding one's self and creating the opportunity for new beginnings.

Fun

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a pretty fun read. I haven’t read the previous book in the series, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out by not having read it. Worth a listen, if you like vampires.

What i am a vampire?

I enjoyed this story greatly. I loved the characters and Gethyn Edwards did a great job narrating. This is book 2 of this series and this is what i started with but i had no problem following the story line. This series has great potential, however my only issue with this book is that it is too short. I would love to have seen more of the fight scenes mixed with the romance. Even though it was short it was very well written. Look forward to more in this series. I received this audio book free in exchange for an honest review..

Short Paranormal Romance

This is a short vampire romance. It is nice to be able to listen to a book at one sitting. The story was interesting and kept my attention all the way to the conclusion.

The narration was good and brought the story to life.

The main characters are well developed and strong. This story has a pleasant take on vampires. Paranormal Romance is one of my favorite genres and I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. There are no cliffhangers and a sweet HEA conclusion.

I'm looking forward to listening to more books from this vampire series.

This Story Was Wonderful

Vampire Michael Odell comes across Anna, an injured human, in a back alley. The smart part of Michael tells him to keep on walking and don’t look back! Against his better judgment Michael does stop and finds Anna is close to death and the only way he can save her is by turning her into a vampire.

Author Lorelei Moone delivers another solid paranormal story. It has action, suspense and humor. Narrator Gethyn Edward was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed his reading of this short story it was perfection and I hope he narrates all the future books in this series.

Entertaining vampire novella w/great narration

What made the experience of listening to Michael's Soul Mate the most enjoyable?

Honestly? It was a good, solid story (which with shorter novellas sometimes doesn't happen). That paired with Gethyn Edwards great narration, it made it just an overall enjoyable listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Michael's Soul Mate?

It was all good, though I enjoyed when the rogue vampires were questioning Anna. I enjoyed the narration, especially the old vampire, and it brings together the story and explains the why behind Anna's attack, as well as brings her memory back.

What does Gethyn Edwards bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gethyn Edwards brought life and ease of listening to this novella. He did a stellar job with the various characters and his cadence was spot on. It allowed me to enjoy listening without having to "overcome" poor narration.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There wasn't a particular moment in the book that moved me, but it was overall a very enjoyable novella. I would definitely recommend it to fans of this genre.

Any additional comments?

What did you love best about Michael's Soul Mate?

The title says it all, this is Michael's story and how he met his mate. I found myself wanting to jump into the book and tell him that he was being silly about how he had met Anna. I think I did shake my kindle a little hard when I was so frustrated that it looked like he was going to let her slip away and not tell her the truth. I am off to read about Lucy now. *Her and I have an understanding and its okay if I call her that* ;-)

What about Gethyn Edwards’s performance did you like?

I like that Gethyn did female voices when reading what the female characters were saying to Michael.

Sweet and juicy

A short and fun listen. An adventure that gives you a sort of sneak peek into a vampire world. Although it's fast it's packed full of details that keep you wanting more.

London Here I Come. Michael Where Are You?

Where does Michael's Soul Mate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and would listen to it again.

What did you like best about this story?

Michael became protective of Anna - feels responsible for her. He's confused about what he's feeling and I liked watching him come to the realization that she was for him. It's more about him as a person than as a vampire.

Which character – as performed by Gethyn Edwards – was your favorite?

I would have to say that Michael was my favorite. Mr. Edwards does a great job of bringing him to life. We get to hear what he's feeling and how he goes from doing the right thing to falling in love.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say that it made me laugh or cry but it did leave me with a smile on my face. It was fun to watch a man who thinks he's going to go through life carefree and come out by the end totally different.

Any additional comments?

This is not a story where the vampires are all bad. We have some bad guys that Michael and his group need to deal with but if it weren't for Anna they may never have known about them. Having a little suspense just adds to my enjoyment.

We have a series that you can see is building as each story comes out. First we had Alexander and now it's Michael's turn. By the end you have to wonder who is going to be next. And I will keep my finger's crossed that our narrator will continue the series as well.

I will say that out of all the series this author has written, this would be my favorite. I get more enjoyment out of the books by having Mr. Edwards read to me. He has me wanting to pack my bags and travel to London. I can see myself enjoying the streets while listening to both Alexander's and Michael's stories. And maybe by the time I get there another book will be out because this book left me wanting more.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Audio Copy of this book.

English cadence nailed...

Gethy brought the read to life. He gave the read the hints of authenticity. The European English makes the listening of this read more realistic.
