Sir Michael Caine knows a thing or two about gangs: whether that’s joining one as a kid, or playing gangsters in movies for over 50 years. Organised crime has captivated pop culture for decades, from the Krays to the Mafia.

Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. And he throughout the series he asks: can a gang ever truly be ‘successful’?

Solid serial

I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did but considering it was just Michael Caine holding our hand through many stories we've all heard of but with a little more depth and understanding that we love to glorify horrible people. This became one of my favourite listens this year. Especially the Omerta & Jesse James episodes.

Let down by unnecessary preaching

Shame that even a podcast series on gangs has to include the latest mantra on race.

Simply Fantastic

There is nine greater than Michael Caine IMHO. Combine that with a griping subject master and brilliantly written. What's not to like.
Delivered in a matter of fact, almost humble style I found it absolutely Brilliant and batata by someone who lived amongst it all.

Superb, Riveting Back To Back Listening.

Sir Michael Caine performs an excellent narration in this brilliant, informative & captivating production.

The veil is lifted so we get to peek beyond the mystique, the stereotypes and myths surrounding some notoriously well known (& not so well known) gangs & gangsters.

We get some reveling insights into the psychology of the gang, facts from fiction and the truth behind the stories.

It's refreshingly good that the gang's victims are also given compassionate consideration so whilst acknowledging our virtually obsessive fascination with gangs & gangsters, it's not just about glorification of gangs & gangsters, infact far from.

The live interviews especially one with a former female 'gang' member's a bit of a surprise & also quite touching.

Michael Cane is a national treasure

It's as awesome as you'd imagine Michael Cane narrating gang stories would be. Anyone who finds the music to somehow be overpowering the speech may genuinely need a hearing check because even without headphones the two levels are almost comically different, it's fine

Interesting Listen

I could listen to the voice of Michael Caine all day, great insight into gang culture.
Can we have more subjects like this please? Especially if I can listen to Mr Caine again.
