Amazing series

Would you listen to Mercy Blade again? Why?

I wouldd definetly listen to this book and the whole series again. It's incredible how much you cna be imersed into the story!

What did you like best about this story?

I absolutely love the authors ideas for this book - the combination of mythology, history and old fairy tales is fantastic! Enjoyed every second of it!

What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The way this book is told fits just right with the character of the main person in the story! It feels like she is speaking from the story instead of someone just reading a story out loud.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are SO many times i laughed on the street or grinned to a joke or a situation in the book (gave me a few weird glances on the street xD) It's great!!!

Any additional comments?

Definetly would advise to buy these series but start listening from the first book!!!!

Poor Ricky-bow.

Jane needs all her " smarts " when Ricky goes missing and things in the supernatural world get turned upside down. Narration as always is very good the book on the whole was good but it had several slow moments, which the previous books did not have. Having said that it is still a good book and well worth reading.

Heartbreakingly good

Totally hooked on this series and oh god this book!

Trying to avoid spoilers but I want to scream at most of characters this time round...
Jane! Don’t ignore things!
Bruiser make better choices!
Rick! Ahhggh Rick!
And it goes on, Faith Hunter had me totally sucked in! great series, every book goes deeper into supernat history, building up the world of Jane Yellowrock into a deeper and richer world with every book. I love Jane, but some of her choices frustrate me and I love that, because she’s not perfect and that just makes her character more real and interesting, same goes for many of their other main characters, I love em, I hate em, my heart breaks with and for them.

This books storyline is fantastic, more supernat creatures, deeper relationships, so many people try to mess with Jane in this book, physically, emotionally, magically, sometimes by people she should be able to trust. This author doesn’t try to tie everything up in a neat little bow or do typical happily ever afters. These books are darker and more interesting than that. The characters aren’t one dimensional, There’s not always an obvious line between good guys and bad guys. So called good guys make bad choices and Jane and they have to live with the consequences. Great chapter in a fantastic series.

The wares are outed

Another good Yellorock book. This time focusing on the wares and her relationships. We learn more about her beginnings and the vamps and wares. Enjoyable.

Annoying moments of self doubt

This book had so much going for it; kick-ass heroine, vampires, were-whatevers ... and then Jane has to go and wreck it all by wallowing in guilt for sleeping with someone out of wedlock. Umm, thanks but no. I don't mind the odd bit of pining after sexy men (hell, we all do that) and I like a heroine who admits gun fights are genuinely traumatic, but guilt about sex? Shouldn't an emancipated, 21st Century shape-shifter be allowed to enjoy herself without that?

Despite the guilt not sitting with my vision of Jane, the story had so many interwoven strand it kept me guessing and I really like Faith Hunter's voice (she really makes the naughty bits sound steamy rather than sordid). I'm going to need to do some research though to see if Jane continues being abit whiny before I buy the next book.
