Summary

Women are like spaghetti, because their thought process runs on and on in an interconnecting web, and men are like waffles because they compartmentalize and "sit" in sometimes blank boxes, just to relax.

Good content, annoying sound

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the book but not this audiobook. Pam Farrell's voice (or perhaps the sound system wasn't set properly to record her voice) as it came through on the Bose sound system in my car was grating. I had no problem listening to Bill and I wanted to hear what Pam was saying so I did listen to the whole thing but the pitch of Pam's voice was challenging to listen to. I am "sound sensitive" though so this may not be a problem for most people.

What did you learn from Men Are Like Waffles Women Are Like Spaghetti that you would use in your daily life?

Was a bit of a light bulb moment and a bit freeing to learn that almost all men are like my husband and almost all women are like me and that doesn't make either of us wrong or right. It is making it easier to accept certain actions and comments by my mate and to realize that I might have to ask for what I need instead of assuming my mate will read my mind. It may actually be impossible for him to read my mind though this book has helped me better imagine what life looks like through his eyes - foreign as that might be.

A great relationship book

This is a great relationship book, really bringing up some key differences between how men and women approach things and offers lots of good ideas.

The presentation is good -- they know they're in a non-print format.

My wife and I recently listed to this on a trip and it sparked lots of good discussion.

Good read!

Though the information is very useful! I'm not sure the co-read was the best method. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

Must read

If you’re a wife trying to understand your husband (or vice versa) or even just a woman trying to understand a man (or vice versa), then this book is for you. It gives you insight both into your spouse and your relationship that will allow you to communicate better and build a stronger, more dynamic relationship together. My fiancé and I have both read it, and we feel that it has given us tools that will allow us to avoid conflicts that might otherwise have turned into massive battles. We’re looking forward to reading more from the Farrels!

I must not be typical...

as a 50 year old woman this book was hard for me to listen to. I did not fit into many of the descriptions of the female spaghetti. I did appreciate some of the insights and I believe the author was on the right track.
