Summary

Along with her triplet sisters, Lady Beaujolais Ashbury is a celebrated beauty, but after five seasons she has yet to find a match she finds tolerable. Since her father refuses to arrange a marriage, it is rumoured in London society that she is holding out for a duke.

Benedict Stanton, Duke of Yardley, vowed never to marry again when his first marriage ended in a scandalous divorce. Having retreated to the country for nearly a decade, he is thought to be a coldhearted recluse. Now faced with leaving his dukedom to the Crown for lack of an heir, he sets out to find a bride in a manner more suited to generations past - through his solicitor.

When Lady Beaujolais receives one of the Duke's impersonal proposals, she rejects it out of hand and in considerable anger. Little does she know she is soon to be forced into his company every day...

Superb story

Commit to the story - yes the narrator gives the characters incredibly dull almost disinterested voices but his normal narration is fine - the story and plot are brilliant though so persevere

Sweet Romance. Loved that every thing turned out well without excessive drama

I agree that the narrator had limited range which was distracting. I was glad to find a fairy tale romance for a change. Sometimes you just need a happily ever after.

Just ok

This book confirms my belief that a narrator can make a good book bad. The story was pretty good, but the narrator just took all the oomph out of the story and the characters. I could not finish.

Enjoyed it

This was a great story. The narration and the sound quality are not good. I only finished it because of the story.
