Summary

A wallflower gets seduction tips from a playboy athlete - until love changes the rules.

Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday - with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.

Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type - at all - but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.

Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man - and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.

Really enjoyable listen

I’m very glad that the last book in this series wasn’t a fluke, and this one is also really good. The author has really upped their game with this series and I think they must have a great editor and team too. The flow, chemistry between the characters, and story are all spot on and they’ve chosen a great narrator again (on the whole) like with the last book (only reservation is the Scottish accent is a bit off at times which distracted me so knocked off a performance star for that).

The book is like a fantastic Romcom movie, but the benefit of audio is that you’re not relying on the natural chemistry of the actors, and every bit of the chemistry in the writing comes across as intended by the author. Cheesy ending, but as you want in that feel good climax of a romance you’re invested in.

Whatever the author has done to improve their stories with this series they should keep doing as it’s really paying off.

It ticked all my boxes - just perfect

Some books just hook you in from the get-go, you know from the outset that you’re going to love it, that it’s got a perfect story with awesome writing. This is that book for me. I put off reading it because, despite all the hype from this series, book 1 didn’t particularly do it for me. However, book 2, Melt for You, pushed all my buttons. Passionate, understanding, hunky, sexy hero. Check. Sweet, shy, socially awkward heroin with a backbone. Check. Wonderful story, excellent writing, funny, sweet, emotional and sexy. Check. I just loved it all. The narration was perfect, brilliant accents and a fantastic ability to switch between characters. Well done Pippa Jayne

Took me by surprise

I like this author. So I began this book knowing I would enjoy it. The writing, the story, so good. I began reading...before I realized it, an hour and a half was gone. I still kept reading. I just immersed myself in the characters and what they were experiencing. I loved the sassy, witty dialogue. It’s a great read. I was so blown away when I realized I finished the book. Who knew you could spend time so pleasantly without paying attention to it passing. Best part was listening while I read. Great narration

Bravo! A new favorite audio.

If I thought I loved J.T. Geissinger before this story confirms it even more. I trully think this is basically a RomCom from how much I have laughed. There is so much great banter between the characters, the witty writing and the chemistry build up makes this audio si spectacular, special and unique that it is now a favorite of mine for the year. The performance by Pippa Jayne evaluated the written word to an exponential level of enjoyment and engagement. The characters are very well developed, the sarcasm is just right and again, the level of fun and funny is perfection!! Trust the fact that this will be a unique, fresh and charming story. The slow burn part of it is just the build up, but the charming, witty and funny outweighs everything else. Deserving of every star!!! THUMBS UP!

Good story, great narration

The first half was so good! The ending skidded off the tracks a bit for me. Loved the hero! Let's hear it for big tough guys who aren't alpha-holes. The narration was amazing, I felt like she captured some of the humor and made the heroine more likable. And her voice for the hero was fantastic. Thumbs up!

Great slow burn

I had not read anything from this author, and the book caught my attention. It was immensely enjoyable. Yes it was a slow burn, but I appreciated the banter between the two characters. Once I read, I discovered this was in audible format - and oh still and enjoyable book. I enjoyed Pippa Jayne's voice, especially as she gave each character life and sparkle. A wonderful read.

HILARIOUS!!!

This was such a hilariously witty, read. A great end to a wonderful series. I wish there were a 3rd installment. Figures crossed! My only pet-peeve with the book though, is how utterly annoying the MC (Joellen) was. ((( Spoiler Alert!!! ))) The story revolves around Joellen. A body-bashing self conscious woman, who's messed up in the head due to her undesirable upbringing (the classic: black sheep/ugly duckling of the family rearing). Her winsome family doesn't think she's pretty, never compliments her. So when others compliment her she has a hard time believing it's true. She sludges naively through life, putting other peoples wants and needs, way above her own ideals. Until, the day she meets a man who challenges her, to probe her self-worth. Throughout the story she finds it impossibly hard to believe that-that man: a Hot Good Looking Man (who's also a famous athlete), could be interested in her. So she reverts to her trusty defense mechanism: self-bashing/self-loathing. Especially, in front of said man. Which I found rather annoying. She has trouble seeing who's in her corner, and who's only using her for selfish reasons. So much so, I found myself wanting place my hands through the story and shake her until she got common sense. It's a looooooong stretch of reading material (chapter upon chapter), until she finally gets some "chutzpah." All-in-all, I'd have to say it's a wonderful story. The ending is TOTALLY worth dealing with Joellen's naivety. J.T Geissinger is an awesome author. Who has once again delivered a: funny, intelligent, steamy read.
