Summary

The Philippine Sea Plate is the deepest, most unexplored realm on the planet. Hidden beneath its ancient crust lies the remains of the Panthalassa, an ocean that dates back 220 million years. Vast and isolated, the Panthalassa is inhabited by nightmarish species of sea creatures long believed extinct.

Tanaka Institute, Monterey, CA: Angel, the recaptured 76-foot, 100,000-pound Megalodon, has birthed a litter of pups - five females - far too numerous and aggressive to keep in one pen. One solution: a Dubai royal prince is building the largest aquarium in the world and seeks to purchase two of the "runts".

The deal hinges on hiring Jonas Taylor's 21-year-old son, David, to be their trainer. Jonas reluctantly agrees, and David is off to Dubai for the summer of his life - not realizing he is being set up to lead an expedition that will hunt down and capture the most dangerous creatures ever to inhabit the planet.

good story!

I enjoyed the story but the narration at times seemed rushed and almost bored! plus every voice sounded pretty much the same! But still - good story, worth a listen!

Loving the series

Enjoyed the book but there were some factual errors contained within….didn’t matter though. It’s a load of enjoyable escapism which passes my dog walking time …not to be taken seriously just enjoyed for what it is. On to the next one.

What the...

OK, I've always been a softie when animals are concerned, anything from Watership Down to King Kong real or animated, can't watch/read, won't watch/read. So bad, that no newspapers or TV here, between the donkey adverts and RSPCA etc just too much for me, people, nah, not bothered, and love a good gory thriller. So I thought, Megladon, it'll be OK, they're not exactly cuddly huh! Oh the tears! Won't give the plot away, but my eyes leaked more than once (yep, I'm that soft) Mr Alten has researched his subjects and listening to any of the Meg books is a lesson, yes he has his little annoying things as I find a lot of authors have, using same descriptions etc, but oh how he made me feel for some characters, despise others and fall in love with the majestic Megladon! Not recommended for the faint of heart as there's graphic descriptions, but these don't seem to have been to shock for shocking sake, but more to make the listener understand just how powerful, and diverse Mother Nature is and we're really not all that. We've interfered and destroyed for knowledge seemingly, and for whatever reason believe we're the higher power. Sometimes I'm embarrassed to be called a human being. Everything has a purpose and the balance shouldn't be interfered with.
Mr Alten you are amazing, and thank you audible. Rant over.....carry on. 🤗
