Summary

Sixteen-year-old Brooke Pierce doesn't need her mom to tell her all boys are trouble. After watching her dad break up the family for a woman half his age, dating is the last thing on her mind. On the first day at a new high school, Brooke meets Luke, the school flirt with a reputation for heartbreak. He's interested. She's not. That only makes him chase her more. After a shocking revelation from her dad, Brooke and Luke form an unexpected bond, complete with crazy rules to keep them safely in the friend zone. Problem is, that's the worst place to be when you're falling in love.

Great Prequel! How it all started...

I really enjoyed going back in time and learning how Brook and Luke met. It gave great insight in what drove them to be the way they are. I understand why Brook was so worried about getting involved with Luke.

The narration was awesome as always. The story sucked me in and I enjoyed every bit of it!

As always Lindzee delivers a great clean story. I love high school romance. It is sweet how hard Luke works to gain Brooks friendship.

Looking forward to my next Lindzee Armstrong book!

Sweet and flirty

This short book was good listening! It involves a 16 yr old disillusioned girl, who has no interest in boys because of her parents divorce. She meets a boy and they decide to become 'just friends'. But sometimes, that's really a hard deal to keep! Wish it were a little longer, but liked it very much!

Loved this prequel

I liked the other books in this series and went back and got this one, the beginning of their story (Brooke/Luke). It was great to get a little bit of background on their relationship. Really enjoying this story. It was nice to find out where the rules came from and how they were created. It helped to understand a bit more about Brooke, although you don't need this to enjoy the other books. Lindzee does a great job of telling their story.

Sweet high school romance

This short story was a nice, easy story to listen to. I liked how the author put in the family problems and how the main character was dealing with it. So true in today's world. The narrator, Tiffany Williams made this story so much fun and so easy to listen to, giving each character their own voice. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

Matched... Differently from what I expected??

When I first read the overview , i thought it might be a sweet valley high, kinda book but immediately the narrator ( Tiffany) caught my attention and kept it!

It was mature and I greatly appreciate the content.
Lindzee , I really enjoy your writing and this book is super cute and fun. I look forward to listening to the others. You've got me hooked !

Bittersweet, Heartwarming Intro to a Series

What did you love best about Meet Your Match?

It was discovering how a girls sad family troubles worked in her life to cause her to fear relationships and see her growing relationship and feelings for a nice guy- even if she works hard to shove him in the friend category.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Luke- he starts out as a typical, flirty boy who is interested in a girl and tries too hard to get her attention. But then his generous and selfless spirit surfaces when he sets his own wants aside to be a friend when a friend is what is needed.

Which scene was your favorite?

Probably the meet up. I chuckled over the fumbling of the boys and the icy behavior of the girl.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did chuckle a few times over the youthful antics and was sad over the way the dad really blew it and destroyed his family particularly with his daughter. But I also wanted to take the heroine in hand for letting her parents' troubles mess up a good thing for her.

Any additional comments?

It's best to know going in that this is a prequel introduction that begins a story, but doesn't finish it until book one. It is complete enough to enjoy and doesn't have a cliffhanger or anything like that, but there is no resolve.

A sweet romance

Brooke is the desire of the school flirt Luke. Brooke wants nothing to do with him. Typical high school, Luke wants her even more than. Brooke is dealing with her parents divorce. Lindzee Armstrong brought out how much divorce can affect the children. I enjoyed that realistic part of this story. But the fun, flirty ways of Luke made this story captivating. Brooke was determined to keep him in the friend zone. This was such a fun romance with a bit of real life struggles. I was able to get lost in the book and feel as if I were right there with them.

Tiffany Williams has a great voice. I always enjoy her narrations. Ms. WIlliams is able to bring the characters to life. Her different tones keeps the characters separate. Ms. WIlliams range of tones is amazing, and her male voices are smooth. Ms. WIlliams enhanced the overall experience of this story.

How Brooke and Luke started

Since I recently listened to Miss Match where Luke and Brooke become a couple it was fun to listen to this short book that gives us the background on these two who became best friends. We also learn the story of how Brooke and Zoe became friends, and why Brooke becomes a Matchmaker. It also explains the how and why Brooke came up with her rules for her friendship with Luke.

Brooke is going through a really rough time for anyone, especially a teenager. Her parents have separated and are divorcing because her dad cheated and now that woman is pregnant, add to that she and her mom recently moved so now she's at a new school. Thankfully Luke turns out to be less of a jerk than he appears when she first meets him. He listens to her and helps her through this rough time, plus he helps her out when his "friend" Chris tries to take advantage of Brooke at the school dance.

Since this wasn't the first No Match For Love book I've read, I liked finding out how their tradition of eating popcorn and critiquing and rating the model competition TV show together started. I didn't like how Brooke's mom's anger at her soon-to-be-ex had her putting all men down. This doesn't do Brooke any favors as she has to listen to this until she graduates and moves away from home. She ends up having to come to terms with this in another book.

As always, the narrator Tiffany Williams does a great job.
