About this listen

This classic teaching by a Tibetan master continues to inspire both beginners and long-time practitioners of Buddhist meditation. Chgyam Trungpa Rinpoche shows that meditation extends beyond the formal practice of sitting to build the foundation for compassion, awareness, and creativity in all aspects of life. He explores the six activities associated with meditation in action - generosity, discipline, patience, energy, clarity, and wisdom - revealing that through simple, direct experience, one can attain real wisdom: the ability to see clearly into situations and deal with them skillfully, without the self-consciousness connected with ego.

Editor reviews

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the original unabridged audiobook guide to meditation has been released with Meditation in Action, written by Tibetan meditation expert and Buddhist Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche with a foreword and the narration by Samuel Bercholz. This guide gives not just the skills involved in true meditation, but examines the entire concept as a whole. You will learn a vast amount of wisdom from a man that took his knowledge of meditation and Buddhism and spread it throughout the west in a time when eastern philosophies were largely met with scepticism. "Meditation in Action" introduced me to Chögyam Trungpa, and what an interesting man! His words are so warm and accessible that I feel like I know him. The way he delivers his views is so simple, yet so deep, that the book can be listenend to over and over again. The anecdotes he shares are both fun and enlightening. His voice deserves to be heard!

Thought-provoking!

Narrated beautifully. The principles and history of meditation are shared in a simple narrative that breaks down complexities in leading a peaceful life. I thoroughly enjoyed this audible and would recommend it as a brief and accessible summary to the Buddhist traditions and essence of mediation.

Simply soothing
