Summary

An alien-infested colony. A trapped platoon. The one man who will stop at nothing to lead his unit to safety.

Rade Galaal and his team of special operators are deployed to a colony under attack by a strange new alien race. Their mission: find the extraterrestrial base and destroy it.

The operation should be easy, given that his men pilot Brigand mechs: massive, 25-foot-tall war machines armed to the teeth with electrolasers, rockets, incendiary throwers, and more.

But it's not easy. Rade and his team soon find themselves in over their heads.

Surrounded by an entire world of enraged aliens, they must rely on their wits, their training, and their mechs to survive.

Because their only way out is each other.

Fun story, but narrator is not up to scratch

As per title.

Narrator for the Arganauts series is terrific. So listening to this one is just painful.

Mech

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, a different approach for the battling platoon excellent narration also increased the effectiveness and enjoyment of the storyline.

Surprising.

At first I was not sure is it worth of listening but the way how writer tells about mechs, AIs, Moths etc. catched me to listen to the end. And in the end tears fell down, such a good book this is.

Reader did good voiceacting and reading. Gave a good voice for characters.

Like this the less of all books of the author.

It's confusing, lame and not really interesting. The other books of the author are way better 😀

Appaling

I have listened to it while driving, cleaning and washing dishes, like almost all the other books...

BUT!

This book lacks a proper storyline, there are no real characters in it. The military "jokes" are plain "flat" - you listen and say WT*...

There was only one chapter at the end that gave me hopes that there will be something original and better the rest of this junk, but... no.

The description of battles is really simplistic and stupid... Aliens look like are not sentient at all, though somehow they have technology, but behave like mad bugs...

The reading of this book is SO MONOTONOUS... Sorry, man, but NO.
