Summary
If you enjoyed Me Before You by JoJo Moyes, One Day by David Nicholls, or The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, then make time for Kelly Rimmer's stunning, heartbreaking new audiobook, Me Without You. A story of how love can break our hearts - and heal them.
A year ago I met the love of my life. For two people who didn't believe in love at first sight, we came pretty close.
Lilah MacDonald - beautiful, opinionated, stubborn and all kinds of wonderful in ways that words could never quite capture. The woman who taught me to live again.
My Lilah, who gave me so much and yet kept from me a secret that she knew would break my heart.
My name is Callum Roberts, and this is our story.
Me Without You is an audiobook to make you smile, bring you to tears and remind you to hold on tightly to those you love.

A book of two halves
The deck shall where she is ill is poignant and beautifully observed, but the first half is purely about the couple and really needs a change of scene now and then to keep it lively.

Took me a while to get into this book
This book without realising it when I chose it was very close to my heart as the main character has Huntingtons Disease. A degenative condition with no cure and eventual death as it's only outcome.
I found they dealt with the subject of the illness very well and gave an accurate representation of how the illness can be in some adults.
I enjoyed this book but felt emotional at times but only due to having closely experienced the condition.

Only love can break your heart
This is a slow burning Australian relationship drama that tells the story of Lilah and Callum. A book with such a simple plot (I won't spoil it but it won't take you too long to work out what happens) needs strong characters to make it work and Kelly Rimmer's creations are believable and realistic. This is probably best put in the category of a "weepy" and I can see this being picked up as a successful film adaptation. It is well done and nicely finished off and probably one of the best in its category. Although not normally the sort of thing I would read or listen to, I actually quite enjoyed it as a change.

Not as dreadfully maudlin as expected
Not my usual choice of reading but the “Daily Deal” & want of a change lead me to this book. Well written, v sentimental & I don’t want to read anything like it for a year or two!

Almost perfect
I did enjoy this story, but I did find it a little unbelievable. Written as a romantic tragedy it was a little too 'fluffy'. Apart from this, I still enjoyed it and ploughed through it rapidly.
My only criticism with the performance was I struggled to decipher who's chapter it was because there was little differences in Lola's and Callum's voices. I sometimes had to guess who was talking if I missed the chapter change.
I won't read it again but I did enjoy it.

Beautiful story
Beautiful story, I got bored with the monotone story teller, but I wanted to know what the ending was so I persisted and a beautiful ending.

Slow to start
For me, this was a slow burner, but once the characters & their relationship got going, I loved them. Quite a simple plot, but very well written and beautifully narrated.
