'The Firebrand': a women's rights campaigner is kidnapped, and it's up to McLevy to investigate.

'Dead Reckoning': a strange case of grave robbing has McLevy puzzled.

'Prince of Darkness': one of Jean Brash's old lovers is back from the dead - and out for revenge.

'A Distant Death': McLevy's nightmares of death by drowning seem about to come true....

'The Blue Gown': with the help of Jean Brash, McLevy investigates the death of a seamstress.

'Flesh and Blood': a student is accused when a tavern brawl ends in murder.

'A Fine Deception': suspicion falls on a stage magician after a jewel robbery at Edinburgh Castle.

'The Last Illusion': McLevy must prove his theory that a celebrated conjurer is a thief.

I LOVE McLEVY ❤️

I have all of these Mclevy radio productions and love them all. These are recreations from the book of true events from the diary of the real Scottish McLevy who’s life was spent policing the streets of Edinburgh during the Victorian era. The writer David Ashton (who also splendedly plays McLevy’s boss) has done a great job translating these into marvellous hilarious shows of murder, intrigue, treachary, slander, kidnapping, you name it, it is all in these great shows. We get fantastic value for money/credit with at least 6 to 7 hours of pure fun entertainment for each series. Brian Cox is superb, he is McLevy bringing the fascinating character to full life, he is so witty you will have lots of laughs wishing that this series could just keep going on. PLEASE! LETS HAVE MORE! 🌹

Takes you back to the days of policing without squad cars and super computers.

It's not complicated plots or soul destroying child murders , it's easy to follow with a touch of comedy. The actors have created a bond and seem to have gelled nicely. The one annoying thing is a lot of the background voices along with store keepers or landlords are easy to hear are done by the main cast but apart from that it's a gem.

Richt braw!

Absolutely love this series. Great atmosphere, fantastic characters and amazing performances all round. Some stories are a little clichéd, but still hugely entertaining. "Charlie is ma darling'..."

Victorian Crime In Edinburgh

Each one gets better and better. Each cast member make this series work without them Mclevy would just be ok. I've got to admit it really does take you in and when some members leave you feel the lose. It is well written and well read/ acted and leaves you wanting to listen to the next one straight away. I love inspector Mclevy and love how his mind works and you know he always gets his man/women, also you never know what's going to happen with Jean and McLevy's relationship. A Victorian crime in Edinburgh.
