Four gripping Scottish crime novels in one place!

DI Jade Tanner is still reeling from the loss of her husband when she's offered the chance to lead Police Scotland's new Complex Crimes Unit. Unsure whether it's a promotion or a poisoned chalice, she accepts.

Over a series of twisty and intricate cases she must pull together a disparate team, many of whom don't want to be here: DS Mo Uddin, who's moved from Birmingham and isn't sure if it's the worst decision he's ever made; Dr Petra McBride, feisty psychologist with skeletons in her own closet; DC Patty Henderson, no-nonsense city cop with a history of trying to mother Jade; and DC Stuart Burns, whose ambition can exceed his judgement.

And then there's the boss: Superintendent Fraser Munro, who's becoming more than just a colleague...

Jade must navigate the politics of running Scotland's most neglected unit with cases that take the team to Loch Lomond, Inverness, Arran, Perthshire and a lochside gathering of the world's most powerful people. Can she and her team solve the cases and preserve their unit's reputation?

The stories were entertaining but were completely spoiled by a terrible production. Chapters in all books out of order and then repeated sometimes 3 times. This has clearly been put together in a rush but there’s simply no excuse for this not being quality assured and checked.

Unfortunately a terrible production

Enjoyed the box set. Unfortunately, book 4 had some recording issues where the sound goes and it jumps back to previous chapters and even back to book 3 at 1 point! It missed or skipped Jades diagnosis.

Easy listening

I really enjoy this author's writing, but the production of these four books is so poor. it makes it very hard to listen at some point. fourth book seems to be the only one produced in the correct order. some chapters are just repeats of bits that have been done before. makes no sense

good stories ruined by poor production

Never had this before but this set of books jumped about all over the place. 2 of the books had chapters in them from the other books. It kept randomly jumping back one or more chapters good job I wanted to know what happened or I would have given up on it

Story good audible production terrible

I enjoyed the four novels included in this audiobook. Great characterisation, good plots, and very well told. The narration was excellent. However, it was almost unlistenable owing to the horrendous glitches. Chapters/sections kept repeating, and the order was jumping around. At one point, I was listening to a chapter from book 3 at the end of book 4. I’m sure this is just a technical issue, and I hope it can be sorted so that other people can enjoy these very worthwhile novels.

Great stories, shame about the production
