What did you like most about Matilda?

I love every bit of the book. It's thoroughly entertaining and Kate Winslet was spectacular.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Matilda?

Several. I love Mrs Trunchball's encounter in class with smart Nigel 'unless-you-want my-middle-name' Hicks; the part where Lavender put the newt in her cup of water, and of course Matilda.

I think this is the best of Roald Dahl's books.

What about Kate Winslet’s performance did you like?

Everything, she made all the parts come to life.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed all the way through.

A wonderful reading of a fun story, kept three girls 5,6 and 7 spellbound on car journeys for a couple of weeks and begging for more as soon as we all got into the car again.

Kate Winslet's reading was wonderful. The story is so much fun.

Kate Winslet's performance was intelligent and entertaining. A fabulous interpretation of the characters which got better and better throughout the story.

Story - the story is good and a classic Dahl

Performance - Winslet puts in a good performance here. The volume can change dramatically at times which is frustrating for comfortable listening. The accents she uses are good and Matilda’s own matures throughout. Overall enjoyable

I know Roald Dahl, of course, but this is the first of his stories that I have listened to, apart from Charlie ... Willy Wonka. I will listen to more and Kate Winslet's performance was excellent.
