Summary

For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now.

This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Can’t wait for the next one

I discovered Joe, Skippy and the merry band of pirates late, and could binch all the books until this one. The waiting suuuucked! It was worth it though. Loved this one also, and R.C.Bray is by far the best narrater out there.
Just love listening to these books.

always left wanting for more

as ever I just love this space saga. it's references to the present day TV and other sci-fi stuff, together with humour double act of Joe and Skippy makes me impatient for the next instalment.

Outstanding

Still has me shouting out aloud and cheering like I’m watching a game. Best series I have ever listened to by far

The best and most brilliant book in the series!

The Expeditionary Force series has always mixed space opera, military action and theoretical physics with slapstick banter - a difficult balance at the best of time but this book pulled it off admirably. Even with dozens of characters it was not hard to follow the ever-changing plot. No doubt this was also down to the superb performance of narrator R. C. Bray. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Good but not the best in the series.

Like rest of the books in this series it's pretty solid and R.C. Bray is once funny and awesome in his narration. The story do suffer a bit from being the second last book in the series. Sometimes it just feels like it slogs on and on and on. While at other time so much happens at once that it feels almost overwhelming. As mister Alanson is rushing to tie up all the loss ends and set the stage for the final show down in Book 15. (Which I am SOOOOO Looking forward to!)

You Filthy Monkeys Will Love It

Hidee-Ho there monkeys. Let's be honest you've listened to at least 13 other books in the series now (make sure you listen to the maverick series if you haven't ). That means you don't need me to tell you to listen. Otherwise you're just indulging in masochism now if you don't enjoy the series. The final book is out soon and we have no idea how it will finish, except that a filthy monkey and a beer can will be a part of our lives forever!

brilliant

I very nearly sent Mr Alanson a strongly worded email but luckily the last half an hour cleared it up. I didn't trust the awesomeness. best in the series so far.
