Summary

Sometimes, the wilderness is the only place God can get your undivided attention.

Everyone finds himself or herself in a wilderness at some point: financial wildernesses, emotional wildernesses, relational wildernesses, health wildernesses, reputation wildernesses, failure wildernesses, or unemployment wildernesses, and the list goes on and on. In those moments, we are utterly dependent on God for well-timed help. If he doesn't come through, we're finished.

For 40 years, two million Israelites were in the wilderness, and God fed them supernaturally every morning with manna, teaching people who doubted him that he can be trusted with everything they needed to survive. This is a lesson we need to learn, too.

In personal stories and applications of biblical lessons, Manna reveals how God specializes in making a way where there is no way. He proved it every day to the nation of Israel, never missing a day of being faithful. He was never late, and he was never early. He was always just in time. And he will be for you.

Excellent

This is for men. However, it can be applied to women. I am applying this book towards my life.

A well timed help

Steve Farrar does a very good job of weaving scripture and personal stories together to show how God still provides manna today in a timely fashion. The narrator does very well in bringing out the meaning as he reads.

Unfortunately Left Out Half His Audience

I was misled by this book, I didn’t realize it was only written for men. The contents pretty good so had he used examples that can relate to women or spoke to women in the book also this it could do wonders for people. I don’t know if it was intentional or unintentional but the marketing for this book was definitely misleading I wish I would have known before I spent the money on it.

Very nice but...

I loved everything about this book it was very encouraging, the only thing I didn’t care for was that it seem to be tailored specifically towards talking to a man, the messages in this book are relatable for women and men so it would’ve been nice to be more generalized but otherwise it was very encouraging

Good book Tough Voiceover

The content was amazing and very encouraging. Even though it was written to a male audience everyone can gain truth and wisdom. The voice was part computer part great grandpa. It was hard to engage.

I really liked it!

Insightful and practical. Entertaining and theologically sound. Great for remembering that even in the seasons of doubt and hardship God is there.

This book gives you real Hope!

In times like these we need hope as never before. In this book you will find such realistic hope. Steve Farrar talks from a place of real life (reality) and God’s real provision even when your back is totally up against the wall. This book would especially encourage men;however, I am a woman and I was very sad when this book ended. I highly recommend it 😊

For Male Audience

Maybe if I had known before getting into the book that it was written for a male audience it wouldn't have been so off putting, but being female, I couldn't get more than half way through. I hope it's meaningful to men.

Manna when I needed It!

I came across this book by “chance” while in a wilderness like none I’d ever been in before. It encouraged me to hope and to trust in the goodness of God—even in the midst of very difficult circumstances.
