Malachi Shepherd is a nineteen-year-old, half Lumbee Indian, who has been raised in southeastern Kentucky his entire life. He and his best friend, Elijah Cooper, have spent numerous hours hunting, fishing, camping, and just enjoying the creek and hills that surround their cabins. An altercation at a turkey shoot with some of the notorious Cade clan starts a series of events that will change Malachi’s life forever.

Another very promising first book in a new series from the pen of Malcolm Hotzman. Well written and exciting listening, with a wealth of likeable and endearing characters. Very amusing in parts and edge of the seat drama in others. Henry Marshall nails the narration and brings the whole story to life. I am already looking forward to more books in the series. ☺
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review voluntarily.

Brilliant new series.
