Jason’s and Emerson’s (Emmy’s) development of a professional to a friendship to a romantic relationship is one of the best paced stories I’ve ever read. The Author managed to create such a soft and tender balance in chemistry between the characters as they manoeuvred their relationship in eclectic spaces (school and other social settings) Emerson’s character surprisingly resonated with me personally as the more I read his characteristics and his temperament as he tries to make interactions with others, I find myself so emotional because many if not all of of his characteristics mirror my own characteristics, especially as I try and cope in professional and social spaces. Emerson’s character made me feel so seen and represented in a way I will be forever grateful for. I read Book 1 and its carefully crafted story telling made me want to delve into this second book and I did not regret it. Lucky Hart has easily become one of my favourite authors. The Narrators Javi Wilder whose voice I enjoyed from For the Fans and Julio Maxwell did an absolutely superb job lifting the characters off the pages with their own personal flair. This book will certainly be earmarked for a go to comfort read in the future. Chef’s Kiss.
