Critic reviews

"This collection showcases Burroughs's sharp, funny and sometimes brilliant writing....Burroughs's smooth prose, peppered with charming and awkward moments, is occasionally reminiscent of David Sedaris and David Rakoff. But he's no imitator of those essayists. Rather, Burroughs ambles toward insight in a continual state of self-examination and just happens to have peculiar adventures along the way." Funny and smart

If you like Burroughs you will enjoy his sense of humor in these short and smart stories.
They are like a peephole through his complex and funny way seeing the shortcomes of life. He manages to find a story in what most people would just call a regular uneventual situation.
I enjoy his writing and narrating even though he can sometimes overreact a little bit.
The part about his cleaning lady is especially hillarious, I hear it often!!!
