Superb!!

The book is very good and the author has been creative in his writing.

The narration takes this book out of this world!! Matt Addis narrates this book perfectly. His range of voices make the characters stand out with easy to recognise voices.

Where Matt Addis makes a real difference is his ability to use his pace, pitch and tone to bring the story alive, he conveys the atmosphere and the emotion of each moment, making them resonate with the listener.

He must research the books he narrates by reading each chapter taking time to understand what the author is trying to communicate, and I expect he speaks with the author to clarify how he will execute the narration.

He is the ultimate professional narrator!!

This book is good, and a mediocre narrator would not destroy the excellent story. Matt Addis complements the story perfectly.

Narration is extremely important with audio books, I try listening to a Brandon Sanderson book and could not get past the first chapter because I found the narration too bland.

I recommend this series of books, and I recommend you listen to any books narrated by Matt Addis that suit the genre of books you enjoy.

Fantastic fantasy

I absolutely loved this book - even more than the first. I listened to it every chance I got and have just finished. The world gets richer every minute and it’s a joy to see events unfold. I can’t wait for book 3!

Nice continuation to Mageborn, faster pace

I'm now a big fan of this series, but I would suggest that you read Battle Mage and Mage Born before this or you will not be able to catch up.

For fans of the series, the aftermath of the Katie Hopkins / Daily Mail style slandering of a minority group of Mages has taken it's toll on the students and teachers of the Red Tower as they seek refuge and a place in the world with varying degrees of success. It has a much darker tone than the previous works in the series, dealing with the dangers of prejudice and the cycle of violence that this creates.

For those who disliked the slower pace of Mage Born, fear not, there are magical battles, rouge gods and bloody violence aplenty in this one, It is probably my favorite Stephen Aryan book to date due to the combination of intrigue, plot depth and action.

“I’m going to rip off her head with my bare hands”

Having read the previous series, I was really looking forward to this and I wasn’t disappointed!
It’s quite a slow boil but it’s very intense throughout with great characters!
Great narration too!
Definitely a great pairing!

All to Play For

The Red Tower has fallen and magic outlawed. Mages are hunted down and betrayal is in the air. This second book has many threads which will be drawn together. Wren starts her own small community; a safe haven for all where others like her can live without fear.

Munroe is on a mission to kill Akosh, who is responsible for having her family destroyed and the battle between god and the battlemage is coming . Balfruss joins with Tammy, the new Khevassar to try to stop Garvey's trail of murder across the countryside and disrupt Akosh.

The second book in this trilogy lays the groundwork for what is to come.

cliffhanger

One big interesting cliffhanger. Is Mr.Aryan afraid that his next book will not sell? I mean it worked, I will definitely pick up the third one. I enjoyed it, but overall one big cliffhanger.
