The Shadow is the part of us made up of all that we hide from others: our shame, our fears, and our wounds, but also our divine spirit, our blinding beauty, and our hidden talents. The Shadow is not bad - in fact it is the source of our creativity and power - but until we bring it into the light this power will remain untapped and our full potential unreached.

It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

Food was carefully apportioned and eaten together, everyone was family. The arrival of Chinese army cars one day in 1959 changed everything. In the wake of the deadly Tibetan Uprising, he escaped to India through the Himalayas to start over as a refugee.

Summary
In this collection of guided meditations, hypnotic inductions wake up tracks and teaching excerpts Mindfulness of Dream and Sleep teacher Charlie Morley presents his first ever audio product to help us sleep more mindfully and dream more lucidly.
Based on over 13 years of personal experience and the best of both Western and Tibetan Buddhist sources these tracks allow the listener to unlock their own innate capacity for lucid dreaming and mindful sleeping through transformative guided meditations and explorations of their dozing mind.
Using music from cutting edge producers such as Fybe: One (featured on BBC 6 Music), hypnosis scripts and inductions from Valerie Austin and Katie Glen (hypnosis experts), and binaural technology from Dr Phillip Davis (Monroe Institute board member) this is not your usual 'go to sleep' CD but rather a collection of inspired tracks designed to wake you up to the third of your life that you spend asleep.

Excellent
What made the experience of listening to Lucid Dreaming, Conscious Sleeping the most enjoyable?
This is an extremely well planned Cd where Charlie has used a number of different techniques to help you understand, integrate and explore Lucid Dreaming
I have yet to meet Charlie but I have meet some of the people he identifies as his teachers Without doubt as well as Charlie's own experience he had sort out excellent teachers that make this Cd and the book exception in both detail and accessibility
I have only had the Cd for two weeks so - the benefits to so far have been around being much more aware of my sleeping patterns and using the final track ( which is a hypnotic relaxation and guide ) remembering more of my dreams
I recommend this to you all
If you do for the download on Audible, which rarely carries over the track listing see below

2. The Tao of Dozing
3. What Where You Dreaming About?
4. Mindfulness of Sleep
CD Two

Less music, more talking
I was very confused by this audio title. Surely chapters 7 and 8, where Charlie Morley explains what lucid dreaming actually is, and then takes the listener through a hypnotic experience, should have come right at the beginning of the audio rather than at the end...
Also, although Charlie's voice is soothing and easy to listen to, I found the musical accompaniment to the tracks extremely off putting and annoying. The music completely detracted from the substance of the book and at points drowned out the words.

Just what the sleep doctor ordered
These guided meditations work brilliantly with Audible’s sleep timer ('custom' option) as you can set the timer to fade out just at the point the meditation finishes (with your phone on flight mode to guarantee no jolting interruptions). I did this with the yoga nidra guided meditation (chapter 4) and drifted into a 'conscious sleep' which yielded an epic lucid dream! It was so long, it seemed to last a whole 90-min sleep cycle! I remembered it with crystal clarity on waking up. Quite extraordinary.
Charlie's words are clearly very carefully chosen – every sentence counts and is there for a reason. His gentle, soothing voice is compassionate and lulling – but this is potent stuff! It carries a powerful punch in terms of its efficacy. I can’t wait for bedtime tonight to listen again.

Pretty good...
This book is short and to the point, which is exactly the format that I wanted.
It is short enough to listen to the entire book if I am struggling to fall asleep and being to the point means that I can fall asleep 15-20 minutes into the book and expect some strange dreams that night.
It sounds a little bizarre that I can experience unusual dreams after listening to a short amount of a book. However, I put it down to the fact that I have raised my conscious awareness of the dreaming process so therefore I notice them.
I could possibly benefit from trying to remember my dreams more and try capturing the essence in a notebook at the side of my bed when I wake. Although, my dreams are fun and I don't want to take them seriously and risk losing that fun.

Too much background music
Love the concept, and Charlie is a refreshing voice without the pretentiousness of trying to "sound spiritual"; but the background music is too loud at best and downright irritating at worst. Could have done without it altogether, or at least toned it down quite a few notches - especially the hippy trippy bit with the background beat in the fifth chapter - that just made me nervous !

Very nice
Would you listen to Lucid Dreaming, Conscious Sleeping again? Why?
I really liked it, the voice of Mr. Morley is very nice. I play it very often.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lucid Dreaming, Conscious Sleeping?
The beginning of the CD is my fav.
What does Charlie Morley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
It has to be heard to get into the meditative state.
Any additional comments?
I just did not like how is arranged, if you let it flow, you might get very relaxed, if it keeps playing, a track in the end that is very noisy and the music way to moved and kinda rap to be in a relaxation cd, the problem is if you get relaxed and then listen that you might wake up or get distracted by that track. In my case I have to stop it every time before that track. But overall is very good.

Listen and get lucid
I love the two upbeat song tracks, I listen to them every once in a while as I'm walking the dog or whatever to keep up my lucid dreaming enthusiasm. Also love the two meditation tracks, great for listening to as you fall asleep. I especially love the hypnosis track, I listen to that track (number 8) a lot and I frequently get lucid because of it.
