The philosopher, orator and writer Lucian of Samosata (120-180 AD) is one of the most enigmatic figures of antiquity. Considered by many to be the true inventor of science fiction, his imagination has made the protagonist of his own life. This is not a biography. This is the only real, possible autobiography (written by another, of course) of the person whose identity is dissolved in the imagination, the only antidote to the oblivion of forgetfulness.
