Summary

Quinn established her place in the world by doing everything by the book. She married young, had a beautiful daughter, and excelled at her career. But what she didn't count on was a cheating husband, a nasty divorce, and being left on her own for the first time in her life.

Brett, on the other hand, has the world by the tail with his perfect bachelor's life. He has an Upper East Side apartment, a thriving business of his own, and several admirers after a quickie divorce leaves him single once more. But to his nosy yet loving mother, a man of his age and stature should have married again by now.

When a chance encounter leaves both divorcees needing one another, they agree on a sexy deal that takes them all the way to Malibu. She's looking for sex. Him, a fiancée. But when the "friends with benefits" line becomes blurred, they each have a choice to make: give in to the love or find solace elsewhere.

Sweet Love

Sweet story of how you find love when you are not looking. Quinn is looking for a sex buddy because she has been hurt and is afraid of getting into another relationship. She propositions Brett and ends of finding more than what she thought she wanted and needed. Can she trust in her new found love or will she go back to something that she knows is bad for her.

Hooked

This story is different, has a different path to he’s. It keeps you hooked because you want to make sure they get back together. If listening on your phone, make sure you are far enough away from it so you don’t throw it down in frustration. All in all, a story that gets you to think, to analyze and understand how two characters could finally get it right.

Great and realistic story

This was my first time listening to both the author and narrator and I really enjoyed them both. Both of the characters were really relatable and I found their struggles to be really representative the average person and it was a nice change of pace. They really worked for their happily ever after and I was so glad to see it finally come.

Loved It!

I really enjoyed this book. This is my first time reading Jamie W. Powell. I really enjoyed it. The characters where very relatable. Keira Stevens did a good job with narrating. My only suggestion would be that there be a difference in her voice between Brett and Quinn.

Easy on the Ears

Such an easy listen. Jaime W Powell wrote a beautiful contemporary romance which gives a great look at the frustrations and complex musings of the heart. It shows how love and loss can make us act unchareceristically and how emotional connections can make for bad decisions. The characters were strong and well written and Keira Stevens narrated nicely, together creating wonderful characterisation.

Love and Giraffes

A perfect love story that starts of with faking a relationship. Both Bret and Quinn have a bad marriage under their belts and both have had to deal with it in their own ways. Quinn has the biggest struggle since hers is a bit more fresh, but Bret is so patient and want to be just her friend if that is what she needs. These two really struggle to find their happy endings with each other because of super strong and confusing emotions and misunderstandings. Lucky for us readers/listeners we get to see them all the way to the end when they finally make it through. Such a good book to listen to. The book is written beautifully and the narration is perfect

Real Struggles

This is a sweet and more realistic story in today's world of the struggles in relationships. Quinn married young to her teenage sweetheart only to be left by him years later with a stripper as a single mom.

Quinn meets Brett under an unusual arrangement both struggling from bad divorcees and both hiding secrets from each other so they won't get hurt. Slowly they develop feelings for one another when they're supposed to only be "friends with benefits".

Lying, or lying by omission takes its tole on both of them and new and old romance partners want the opportunity for Quinn's attention.

While Keira Stevens did a great job reading, I sometimes found it hard to identify which character was speaking when the scene's had several personalities interacting.

Sweet and Heartwarming

This is a good story about romance after divorce. Fake fiancé story with hidden secrets and second chance opportunities and kids. I love stories where kids are included but I especially like that Giraffe part wasn’t about the kids because I love giraffes too. Narration was good even though I would rather be able to distinguish the male character’s voice. This is not a steamy romance and that is part of its charm.

Love and Giraffes

Quinn and Brett enter into an unusual arrangement... Quinn wants a no strings attached friends with benefits arrangement, and Brett needs a fake fiancée for an extended family vacation. Since both were recently divorced and left hurt by the experiences, they thought this would be the perfect solution... nobody would get hurt. Just maybe there’s a second chance at happiness for both of them.

I really enjoyed this story by Jaime W Powell. The characters were well developed and very relatable.

Keira Stevens’ narration was also very well done. She brought the characters to life.

Great audible book and story

Both Quinn and Brett are recently divorced. They are going through the rollercoaster ride of emotions that come with a divorce. Quinn has a child. Her husband left her for a much younger woman. This book is so realistic in what the characters have to deal with. It is so easy to fall in love with Quinn, Brett, and all of their friends.

I received this Audible book in exchange for a review. I wish the narrator made more of a difference between her male and female voices. However she did create a very pleasurable listening experience. I definitely would recommend this book. This is the first book I read by this author.

Lovely Romance

This is a lovely contemporary romance. Their relationship started off a bit unconventionally, but their developing friendship is exactly what each of them needed. You will be shaking your head at their inner dialogue as both make mistakes thinking they know that they are doing the best for the other. Luckily everything works out in the end for a HEA.

Really Good

Really good book! This is my first with Jaime Powell and I was super happy with it! This story has so many ups and downs it was an emotional roller coaster for me but it was all worth it in the end. A very fulfilling listen. The narrator was new to me as well, It wasn’t my favorite but still well done and easy to follow.
