When it all unravelled and reality hit, Bella simply got up and left. And the secret remained a secret. Years later, Bella meets Philip and, despite her vow never to marry again, she can't resist him. He is a catch: funny, charming, interesting, and kind. The only hitch is, she's still (technically, anyway) married to Stevie.

Predictable “read it all before” chick lit
Just finished Adele Parks “the state we are in” which I got on a daily deal, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I thought I’d try some more of hers.
I wish I hadn’t, this is just banal chick lit that feels like it’s been churned out in a weekend.
Sorry I don’t normally write bad reviews but this got on my nerves enough to inspire me to!!

Brilliant!!
What a great story. I laughed out loud, I cried and I was shocked.
I'm a huge fan (superfan) of a certain male pop star and the beginning of this book was so realistic, the way the main character acted when she met Scottie it was brilliant.
I fell in and then out of love with Scottie and just loved Fern all the way through.
I'm not sure if there is another book following on from this one I will definitely be reading it.
Brilliant, brilliant book!!

Too long for a story that says nothing
The story was so long but really uneventful and overly twee for my liking. The main character became very selfish and irritating in my opinion and was always the victim even though she created a lot of her own problems through her self absorbed attitude. I wish I hadn’t bothered using a credit on this book and that Jane Fallon had some more on audible instead.

Always wanting what we can't have, is the moral
If you could sum up Love Lies in three words, what would they be?
chick-lit, enjoyable and predicable
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting part of the story is watching the heroine change from a normal girl into someone who is happy to fall for the glitz and glamour and miss out on the things that matter. Makes you wonder if we would all be seduced by money and glamour
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was good, but the pace of the book wasn't very fast.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Being late 30's and unmarried I can relate to her desperation and the ultimatum...and the willingness to overlook certain issues and problems in the pursuit of the perfect happily ever after
Any additional comments?
An ok book, easy listening, but not laugh out loud as I had hoped.
