Summary

In this enchanting novel set at Cedar Cove's cozy Rose Harbor Inn, number-one New York Times best-selling author Debbie Macomber celebrates the power of love - and a well-timed love letter - to inspire hope and mend a broken heart.

Summer is a busy season at the inn, so proprietor Jo Marie Rose and handyman Mark Taylor have spent a lot of time together keeping the property running. Despite some folks' good-natured claims to the contrary, Jo Marie insists that Mark is only a friend. However, she seems to be thinking about this particular friend a great deal lately. Jo Marie knows surprisingly little about Mark's life, due in no small part to his refusal to discuss it. She's determined to learn more about his past, but first she must face her own - and welcome three visitors who, like her, are setting out on new paths.

Twenty-three-year-old Ellie Reynolds is taking a leap of faith. She's come to Cedar Cove to meet Tom, a man she's been corresponding with for months, and with whom she might even be falling in love. Ellie's overprotective mother disapproves of her trip, but Ellie is determined to spread her wings.

Maggie and Roy Porter are next to arrive at the inn. They are taking their first vacation alone since their children were born. In the wake of past mistakes, they hope to rekindle the spark in their marriage - and to win back each other's trust. But Maggie must make one last confession that could forever tear them apart.

For each of these characters, it will ultimately be a moment when someone wore their heart on their sleeve - and took pen to paper - that makes all the difference. Debbie Macomber's moving novel reveals the courage it takes to be vulnerable, accepting, and open to love.

Love the narration. Story no real live.

People with serious issues cannot wrap their troubles up neatly, throw them away and live happily ever after. Over simplifies and sugar coats life.

3rd book in Rose Harbor series is worth the wait!

Would you listen to Love Letters again? Why?

Yes. I mostly listen to mystery novels, but I need a distraction some time. I have enjoyed many of Debbie Macomber's series over the years and the Rose Harbor Novels are no exception. I love the building and intertwining of the characters. The novels always end with a question of what will become of an ongoing relationship. I can't wait for #4!

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character isn't a person, it's The Rose Harbor Inn itself. I enjoy watching the Inn become a special place where unexpected LOVE flourishes. Each novel has brought new additions to the Inn, in structure and in romance. I wish I could loose myself in a real Rose Harbor Inn!

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

My favorite character would definitely be Jo Lynn. As the innkeeper of the Rose Harbor Inn, Jo Lynn keeps everything in order, except her true feelings for Handyman Mark. Maybe Novel #4 will clear this up (I hope).

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

FALL IN LOVE AT THE ROSE HARBOR INN

Any additional comments?

Please pass along to the author Debbie Macomber that her fans are "patiently" waiting for Novel #4!!

Heart Warming and Heart breaking at the same time!

Heart warming and heart breaking, all in this entertaining environment. A young Army widow buys a bead and breakfast on the Washington coast. In a little more than a weekend she is an active participant/observer of the pain and the loving reuniting of her guests. All this helps in her own healing from loss. The story and narration keep you turning the pages. Highly recommended!!!

Enjoyed??????

Enjoyed most of the story but the ending ruined the whole book. No indication of what Mark, aka Jeremey’s back story was about. Very unsatisfying.
