Summary
Best-selling author Mark Manson brings his signature no-nonsense wisdom back to the subject he started his career covering: relationships. Being with your partner may feel like rainbows and unicorns, but that doesn't mean you have a healthy, functioning relationship. Sure, we all need love...but love is not enough.
In Love Is Not Enough, Mark’s first Audible Original, you’ll follow five real people over the course of six months as they navigate f--ked up romantic situations, ranging from dating app addiction to marital affairs to absurd fantasies. At regular intervals, they check in with Mark, share their stories, and soak up some advice. As you listen to these candid, funny, and moving conversations, you’ll learn how to stand up for yourself when you feel the most vulnerable. You'll learn how our imaginations derail intimacy, how our deepest desires can lead us into trouble. You'll learn how to open yourself up, and you'll develop the courage to say and hear that necessary word, "no." You'll learn how to love. And you'll learn that love is not enough.

Overhyped
I decided to give this a go based on an article I found on the Guardian. Found it obvious, cliched, in your face and even unnatural/forced/faked. Esther Perel's podcasts are infinitely better and more worth anyone's time than this. Disappointing overall.

Too much forced laughfter
Which is annoying. Don't laugh at pain, it comes off as condescending. Is this an american thing?

soooooo good!
What a great book. everything made so much sense to me. I especially found it helpful to have real people talking about their situations and being able to relate. I have learnt so much and have many take away moments. Thank you Mark.

The Best Relationship Advice Ever
Mark Manson offers a sober look at how healthy relationships really look like. Personally, it helped me navigate common relationship problems. Listeners will know where they screwed up in their relationships.
Don't miss out. It's a must-have for anybody trying to build an intimate relationship with someone else.

Upbeat American relationship podcast
Like Sarah Knight, Mark Manson is best known for his self help books with profanity spewn titles that have become best sellers in recent years. Mark specialises in relationship advice and he has an analytical but friendly approach to subjects such as boundaries, comparability and, of course, love. Trent Reznor famously sang "Love is Not Enough" on industrial rock band Nine Inch Nail's 2005 album "With Teeth" and Mark Manson takes this theme in the book. This is more of a podcast than his other works and he interviews a series of upbeat and open Americans about their relationship issues and unpicks their problems and offers his advice as to what they are doing wrong. The participants in this book all seem like real people and were selected from around 500 people who contacted the author. It all seems fairly straightforward when you break it down to constituent parts of what makes a good relationship; respect being top of the list. At the end of the day we are all looking for "All of the Love in the World", we do not want "Every Day Exactly the Same" and it ids best if we do not bite "The Hand that Feeds" or we will enter a "Downward Spiral", become a "Pretty Hate Machine" and end up "Broken".

Funny and entertaining, but not much new content
I've genuinely enjoyed listening to this audio book, but unlike the other books of Mark, this left me feeling like I didn't learn anything new at all.
