Summary
Simon Thomas (former Blue Peter presenter and, for so long, the face of Sky Sports Football) reveals how grief nearly destroyed him in his heartbreaking memoir. When Simon lost the woman he had loved for 16 years, the future he'd imagined for their happy family disappeared for ever. Gemma died from acute myeloid leukaemia, just three days after being diagnosed.
In Love, Interrupted, Simon is brutally honest about his journey through grief, and opens up about how close he came to ending his own life. Simon didn't know how to carry on without Gemma; he just knew that, for the sake of his eight-year old son, he had to find a way....
Love, Interrupted is a moving story of love, loss, faith and family.

Absolutely wonderful book
Everyone needs to read/listen this book, we have all lost people we love be it suddenly or otherwise and Simon and Ethan’s story takes you through the first year of their grief without their wife and Mummy. It’s heartbreaking but also shows there is light at the end of a long dark tunnel. Beautifully written and narrated. I wish Simon and his boy Ethan every happiness in the future.

Emotional but real
Wow, what a listen. Having lost my youngest brother to AML aged 30, I could really relate to a lot of this book. So many emotions and tears throughout but wonderfully written and spoken. Thank you x

Very moving
This October will mark forty years since my dear Wife, Mary, died from blood cancer. She left behind a Daughter, Kelly, aged four years eight months. Although Mary had a long & painful ilness, so different to Gemma, I can relate to Simon in so many ways.
I read this book on Kindle a couple of years ago but to hear the words so eloquently spoken by Simon adds a whole new dynamic.
At times it is a difficult listen, so moving & emotional but it was important to me to listen to the end.
I highly recommend this book, but have the tissues handy.

A moving, honest listen
Having read about Simon and Ethan’s loss I followed him on Instagram and watched his posts throughout 2018. Through the book it was amazing to hear the wonderful stories about who Gemma was and really get a better understanding of their life together. It was so brave of Simon to share his grief process in such an unfiltered way. A fantastic read for anyone who wants to understand grief and mental health better and most importantly what you can do to help those going through that journey. I cried, I smiled, I laughed, having finished the book I am left with a lovely sense of hope. Thank you Simon for sharing your story.

Heartfelt beautifully written
Such a sad story so well written and narrated by Simon himself, I cannot imagine the grief of losing the mother of your child.
As a man of faith myself I can relate to the peace he talks about, and as Christians we’re not perfect we do struggle but ultimately we have to trust in God.
Even if you don’t have a faith this book is for you as it challenges the everyday things we all take for granted.
Thank you Simon I now look at my wife a children through different eyes.
God bless you and Ethan may God bless you both richly

...heartbreaking, hopeful...
...much can be learned from Simon's open and brave sharing of his heart...it is critical for men. to understand that opening up and reaching out when emotional pain takes over is the opposite of weakness.

So Sad
I listened intently to your sad story & it just shows how anyone’s life can change so fast . I don’t know how you kept your faith though . I don’t believe in god especially after I lost family members . I wish you & your son all the very best for the future x
