Another brilliant addition to the series by EM Lindsey, a story where the character feel real. It was a pleasure to revisit the small town with great character and to get to know them even better. Nick Hudson did an amazing job with the voices of the characters and overall narration. A series to be followed.

Everything I thought I was expecting about Parker and Ronan was blown away in the first few chapters. Yes, I've met Parker as the dramatic, exuberant town doctor. Yes, I've seen glimpses of Ronan's gruff, isolated ways. But experiencing all the ups and downs of their journey, starting when they were just teenagers exploring their first crushes and transitioning into something heartbreaking and emotional and real.... it was incredible. I've never connected with characters in a story so wholeheartedly, and Nick Hudson's excellent narration made these men feel even more real to me. Everything about their years together and apart felt achingly real, and by the time Jonas came into the picture I was desperate to see how Elaine would work their magic and bring them together.

One of the things I love most about Elaine's stories is how they give each character space to deal with their emotions. Sometimes I read romances where love magically fixes everything that's wrong, and it just feels off and unrealistic. Ronan, Parker, and Jonas had each been through some difficult situations, and seeing how they worked through it, providing support and safety without sweeping everything under the rug, showed me how strong their connection really was.

Compared to some of the other books Elaine has written, this one was relatively angsty. Parker and Ronan's early years had some traumatic moments, and bringing Jonas into their relationship stirred up dormant feelings of unworthiness in all three men. But in my opinion, the angst isn't overwhelming. If anything, I think the darker patches are overshadowed by all the affection, tenderness, and incredibly steamy moments. By the time I reached the epilogue, I was filled to the brim with happiness. Out of all the happily-ever-afters Elaine has written, this one felt the most definitive to me. I got all the closure and satisfaction I was hoping for, and there's no doubt that these men are settled in and living their best lives.

Ronan and Parker have loved each other since their teens. But a fire accident separated them. Parker is a special one. He has some dark humor and Ronan complements him. As a married couple they meet Jonas. As much as they love each other, having Jonas is truly appealing and the chemistry shared is hot. Nick Hudson does a great job telling their story.

Great, realistic story of a threesome done right when an established couple is contemplating a third. I liked the slow methodic way Parker and Ronan approached the relationship with Jonas, each checking to make sure the other was on board, and assuring each other that they would be alright with just them and not adding Jonas; ergo that the other was enough and that Jonas would just make the whole relationship more. Jonas was an addition, not a replacement. And who could not love Jonas’ growth as he recovers and regains his independence from his ‘father’ and family. I would love to see him move forward and reclaim some of the dreams he gave up regarding his chosen career. Peter’s sudden removal as an obstacle was a bit blatant in the plotline, but I don’t see how else Jonas would ever have broken free.

I also really enjoyed the beginning of the book which detailed Parker and Ronan’s beginning, the fall-out from the fire that separated them, and how the friendship between Fitz, Ronan, and Parker was renewed. Fantastic back-story.

I really enjoyed the narration. The voices were varied and readily distinguished. The emotional scenes were well-voiced and touching. I really liked Parker’s accent, but I don’t recall the story ever discussing his roots. He sounded Irish to me, and I’m not sure there’s a large Irish population in Colorado. LOL.
