Summary

You know that squirmy sensation in your gut when you have no idea what you're doing and you're about to screw everything up?

Yeah, that feeling.

I thought I was a good judge of character, but recent events proved me very wrong. Now, in a brilliant demonstration of my newfound caution, I'm putting all my faith in a demon - a demon who's tried to kill me before. The squirmy feeling is making sense, right?

Unfortunately, I don't have any other options. Ezra's time is almost up, which means I need answers and I need them fast. So it's time to toughen up, pack my gear, and find me one of the most illegal, reviled, and scarce mythics out there: a demon-mage summoner.

And all I have to do is follow a demon's instructions on where to look. How could that go wrong?

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Demonized, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen, available summer 2020.

Dragging on this story line a little too long

I was really looking forward to this book, to see what would become of Ezra. This book seemed shorter than most, didnt seem to have the depth of the others and gave no real satisfaction at the end. We've had 2 books now essentially with the same driving conflict. It's time to wrap it up so we can move on to something else.

Tori is not my favorite character but...

This author is one of my absolute favorites but I cannot stand Tori. she is like a character from Shameless. she continues to make horrible choices and then has the audacity to be surprised when things go bad because of them. Not to mention she wants to be included in the magical world so bad but when it comes to actually making an effort to know more she acts like shes above it. Shes really judgmental and jealous when it comes to other women and is downright nosey (and pushy) when it comes to Kai and his family affairs. I continue to listen to the series because I do love alllll the other characters and I'm too deeply entrenched in the drama to quit now, how ever I'm really glad there is only one more book in her POV because I don't think I can handle her immaturity much longer. Rant over.

great series

I love the entire series. though we could have done without the male voice for Ezra with his thoughts. it was out of place and just didn't fit

Argh, cliffhanger!

Annette Marie has left us wanting the last books in Demonized and Spellbound RIGHT NOW! Great build up and lots of backstory reveals, explanations and weaving in of ends neatly so that we have an idea of where things may fit. I want this whole story complete, but I don't want it to end. Guild Codex is one of my favorite Worlds so far! Thank you Annette for writing and Cris for bringing this world to life. Teddy has also done a bang up job here. I would love him to voice an entire Male POV series.... oh, like, let's see a Zack series with Teddy voicing Zack! This is not who he voices in this book. Just saying I would lo e yo see/hear it;-)

Twiggy is so adorable. Can I have him?

The story fits well with the series and all the spin-offs. Personally, I'm not sure how Ezra came to deserve the love interest role. I would have liked it better if it were him from the start. Not really into Tori jumping from friend to friend. Plus he has been such a complete side character the entire story. It just seems forced to push him into this role when we were already past the halfway point. Especially with Tori so hopelessly in love with him as of this was a series long romance.. It would have felt more natural if the Druid was the love interest. If would have seemed more natural. I'm not hating on Ezra as I actually like him as a character. But this is no Bella/Edward love nor a Mercy/Adam type romance.

Again, story was a good fit and begins the work of wrapping things up. Any scene with Twiggy is my favorite.

Narration is on point.

Another hit on the series. I'm so excited to find out what happens next but sad there is only one left. So much action and some interesting character growth.

Unfortunate but ok.

No offense to Teddy. But after listening to Cris for some many books before. I like her voices better. Especially for Ezra and Ateron. Teddy's voice is distracting. His change of voice is not enough of a difference to Enjoy. I was about stop listening listening if he took over completely and was surprised how relieved I was when Cris's voice came back.

Good story, rambled a bit

The narrator could use some word pronunciation help, but otherwise fine performance, and the narrative is interesting. Looking forward to the next installment.
