Contained here are nine glorious episodes from the idyllic world of Wodehouse. There's a crime wave that was to rock Blandings Castle to its foundations which broke out towards the middle of a fine summer afternoon; Ukridge appears on Corky's doorstep at three in the morning, wearing his yellow mackintosh and requesting a whisky and soda; while the Oldest Member warns of the folly of driving into the father of the girl you love.©2014 P.G. Critic reviews

"A brilliantly funny writer, perhaps the most consistently funny the English language has yet produced." (The Times [London])

"In this superb volume of short stories featuring some of his favorite characters, Nigel Lambert sounds as if Wodehouse himself directed him. His timing is flawless, his characterizations masterful.... This is a great comic interpreting the work of a great humorist." (AudioFile)

I have long loved PG Wodehouse - and now I feel the same about Nigel Lambert who is unutterably superb as the reader, the bringer to life, of this lovely collection of stories.

What did you like most about Lord Emsworth and Others?

Echoing the other reviews - have always loved reading Wodehouse, but Nigel Lambert is absolutely brilliant ! Its rare to have a reader do male and female voices, young and old equally well but he is just perfect.

Wodehouse brought superbly to life

The usual amusing stories - but a little disappointed with the narrator - but Jonathan Cecil is a hard act to follow.

Excellent narration. I found occasionally the chapters felt a bit disjointed. They seem to start almost in the middle of the story. Although the chapters were announced I had to go back a few times to make sure I hadnt missed the beggining. An enjoyable read. The stars kept disappearing but I would rate it 4 for story and 5 for performance.

Enjoyable but at times a bit hard to follow

Full disclosure. I just listened to the first story. I wanted to only listen to the Blandings story as I am a huge fan of the series and I’m reading all the books in order. For those that love the series, it really is excellent. I cannot recommend it highly enough. A really funny story, consummately written, and it shows our favourite characters in a new life. A total delight. Oh, and expertly narrated, as usual.
