About this listen

From the USA Today bestselling author of BOYFRIEND MATERIAL and HUSBAND MATERIAL comes a charming New Adult LGBTQIA+ romance perfect for fans of Heartstopper.
Drew’s always prided himself on being the “right” kind of nerd. He plays sports, has a solid group of friends, and never had any problem talking to girls. Sure, he spends time playing Heroes of Legend, the biggest MMORPG on the planet, but it’s just a fun hobby, not his identity. Falling for someone in a video game? Not his style.
Until it is.
Enter Kit: witty, kind, razor-sharp, and a healer who’s saved Drew’s virtual skin more times than he can count. She’s also, turns out, a boy in real life. The realization knocks Drew off-balance, but it doesn’t take long for him to figure out the simple truth—he likes Kit, no matter Kit’s gender.
The real challenge? Kit’s reality is leagues apart from Drew’s. Being online is his life, and while he’s willing to come out of his shell an inch at a time, there’s such a wide gulf between them that Drew’s left wondering: can love truly bridge the distance…or are they fated to remain in separate worlds forever?

Even as a non-gamer I reaaly enjoyed this book. Only one small thing could be improved by having accompanying PDF for abbreviations (even though they are read out at the beginning).

Love all things Alexis Hall

This book made me smile, laugh and occasionally discover some moisture leaking from my eyes. Maybe I am biased due to having met my spouse in a video game. But the story is the sweetest. The gaming, the friendships, even dealing with societal judgement on what is the "right" kind of things to like and spend time doing. It all hit the spot, leading me to believe Alexis Hall really writes what they know. (Also Burnsyourface is a real player. We have all met them.)

The performance is top notch. With the right amount of sweet and melancholy to make this one of the best audio books I have ever listened to.

The sweetest story

Loved this story, it's very different to most audiobooks I've listened to, but I would love more of it. It's easy to follow and really geeky!

Lovely story

At first I thought that this was one of those books that really don’t suit the audio format (because of the online gaming chat), but the narrators did a superb job, and managed to somehow make things very clear.

I love so much about this story. The love of gaming, the finding of love and friendship in (somewhat) unexpected places, the environment, the quarrel (!), and the way everyone handled it. Nothing was over the top, everything was balanced, and I like all the characters so much!

Also - Will Watt is a superb narrator, and possibly made the whole experience even better.

When Alexis Hall is good, they are so VERY good.

I loved Looking for Group since I first read it, and since then have been hoping it would get the re-release treatment that Hall's Spire books are getting. So, when I found out that it was, I was ecstatic! Even more so that it was getting an audiobook. And wow, what an amazing audiobook this is! The quality and full cast were amazing. It made for a perfect way to reread this book. I'm already looking forward to giving it a re-listen!!
