Summary

A witch’s familiar must protect London from the monsters that lurk in the shadows; the creatures that seek to unravel the fabric of things and send a city to hell.

Stella Familiar was created by the London Coven out of spit and blood.

She’s a fighter, a blunt instrument, built to destroy the forces of evil and keep peace in the capital.

She’s carried out her duty for decades, but when the witches who gave birth to her are butchered, it’s up to her alone to save a city of nine million people.

Mystery, scares, and fast-paced action collide in this thrilling urban fantasy. London Coven: A Three-Book Collection, combines the first three books in the London Coven series:

  1. Familiar Magic
  2. Nightmare Realm
  3. Deadly Portent

Magical badassery breaking cliches

This 3 story omnibus is strung together as one in the Audible audiobook edition, so it's an awesome value. The stories are action-packed, full of surprises and cliche-breakers, and with interesting, layered characters. The narration is nearly perfect. The writing is mostly smooth, and highly original. No sex scenes or pouty damsels in distress in these books!

Book One: FAMILIAR MAGIC
Stella Familiar is not what I was expecting from a witch's familiar. She's not a pet - she is a kickass assassin, messenger, and magical dogsbody for the trio of witches that protect London. When she is orphaned by the death of her coven, she is determined to find their killer and exact revenge. Other deaths point to a major badguy on the scene, and the stakes are escalated. She has to make her own decisions for the first time, and decide what her life will be from this point forward. Luckily, she saves the life of a police detective who seems to want to partner up with her to discover and nullify the threat.

Book Two: NIGHTMARE REALM
Creepy but clever story in which Stella and David try to protect the children of London from a supernatural threat that captures kids using a scary playground rhyme to enchant them into a coma-like sleep. Unique storyline and lots of tension.

Book Three: DEADLY PORTENT
This was my favorite, probably for the addition of Eva Familiar. Eva is the foil for Stella's dedication to continue her mission to protect the city. Eva's coven are also gone, but she is rejecting all the old rules and living a lone wolf life of fistfights and alcohol. David's miracle resurrection comes back for its price, and a rogue succubus is on the loose, killing citizens. Who can Stella really rely on?

You'll Get Familiar With a Fabulous New Familiar!

WOW! What a series! Let's get right into it.

Book One: FAMILIAR MAGIC
I don't know about you but usually when I think of a Witch's familiar, I think of something like a cat, raven or toad. Well hold onto your seat and prepare to meet Stella Familiar, the London Cohen's familiar, brought to life. She is one clever, determined and kicks$$ female. When major trouble starts at the very beginning of the book, Stella teams up with good guy David. From there, the adventure takes off as they work in tandem to protect the Commons (read = humans) of greater London!

Book Two: NIGHTMARE REALM
In Book Two, Stella and David are in a race against time to protect the children of London from all falling into a rhyme-induced unending sleep including David's neice!

Book Three: DEADLY PORTENT
Enter Eva Familiar and all of her crackles, wit and sarcasm. She joins with the group to help protect Commons from death, including one of their very own.

It took me a few chapters to settle into the series at the beginning but once I did, it was hold on to the seat of your pants excitement. If you love witches, this is one NOT TO BE MISSED!!

The narration was some of the best, most entertaining I have heard to date! Ms. Tracy's British accent was spot on for characters based in London and she managed to make each and every voice completely unique. She made Stella, David and company come absolutely TO LIFE for me and I cannot thank her enough! If I could give her MORE than 5 Stars,,, I totally would!!!!

Stella the familiar has lost her coven. Now she has to keep London safe from other's kinda like her.

This story is amazing, and very entertaining. It takes you on a magical journey with a witches familiar. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to other's who enjoy a story of magic, and mystery. This story does use adult language.

She is not just a familiar.

After the death of the most powerful three witches their familiar Stella must step up a do what she was made to do. Stella Familiar decides to take over and take care of the people in London. David Tyler is just a mortal but together they make one check if a dynamic duo. There adventures come to life and make this book even more phenomenal.
These books are well written with a lot of sass and sarcastic wit. I love how the characters develop and become strong in their own rights.

Splendid and Deep

The collaboration between Stott and Bussell is phenomenal. There is enough information provided in each book that it could be read as a stand-a-lone, but they are better read together. It is fast paced and intriguing as you try to figure out how Stella will conquer the tasks.

I can't even compliment Heather Tracy on her job as Narrator. There are many characters and each with their own tempo and sound. But the truly tough character, as far as vocals go, is Mr. Trick. His voice is multiple voices that come forth and change out, even in mid sentences. It was a pleasure to hear a true artist in Heather.

Fun Urban Fantasy

This review is for the first three audible books in the London Coven Series an urban fantasy.
Book 1 is Familiar Magic
This story sets the premise of storyline, we get to know the characters, who they are and a feel for how Stella our heroine a familiar created by three sister witches now deceased takes over for them and is determined to find there murderer and keep the peace in London.

Book 2 Nightmare Realm
In this story Stella finds that the barriers that her creators have installed are coming down, she must figure out how to resurrect them and save the children of London.

Book 3 Deadly Portent
This story has gotten personal for Stella. There is a sucubus on the loose murdering people, a wizard wants her friend, the man she has gotten close to killed. Stella is on a mission to bring peace, justice and hopefully save the man she maybe falling for.

This has been a fun fantasy journey.
Heather Tracy did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, and there where many, I can’t imagine how she did them all, but you must listen to hear them and see what I mean.
