What made the experience of listening to Locke & Key the most enjoyable?
A great production, with a huge cast! The credits at the end are a couple of minutes long. The Foley artist (sound effects men) and composer do some superb work. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't win awards for this production.Who was your favorite character and why?
Tyler Locke the eldest child. He sees his Dad die at the hands of a madman. The same madman that he'd previously told the madman, that he would like to see his father dead. He shoulders this burden of guilt whilst trying to solve (with his siblings) the secrets of the Locke ancestral home.Runner up was Scot Kavanaugh, Kinsey Locke's Mancunian mate. Not a bad stab at a Manc accent. I'm not sure if he is written as Mancunian in the graphic novels but the actor portraying him used the accent. Nerd, punk with pluck. Great character!
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
A cast recording so no narrator as such. But the cast is great. Its a huge cast filming an adaptation of a series graphic novel. Most voices were instantly recognisable though I admit to being confused in some of the action scenes as who was who.If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Like father, like son...For both Hill's homage to his dad's (Stephen King) work. And Tyler Locke trying not to repeat his father's mistakes.
This production reminds me of Stephen King' books IT so much! It has all the hallmarks of that horror classic. A group of misfit teenagers take on an otherwordly, age old evil. Possessed mad men, urged by inner voices to nefarious deeds. A Lovecraftian nemesis. Historical timeshifts to fill out the back story. Its even a radio play (well sort of) a format that King professes to love so much in his love letter to horror, Danse Macabre. But do you know what? When the end product is as imaginative and as entertaining as this book/adaptation/graphic novel, it doesn't matter one jot!

Like I've previously stated in my review, this production is based on a graphic novel, which is obviously a visual medium so this audiobook obviously lacks the description. There is a narrator to set the scene, so the listener doesn't get confused to where a certain scene is set but you don't really get the sense of place. Plus some characters who would appear on page in the graphic novel do not come across in the production as well.That's the only reason the book doesn't get full marks. Fast moving, entertaining and moving. Highly recommended!I hope one day that Joe Hill follows Neil Gaiman's example with Neverwhere and adapts his Locke and Key graphic novels into a novel.

The story is gripping, however the audio is a bit over produced at times, which makes it a bit difficult to follow with the bashing banging and screams. That being said, my girlfriend wouldn't stay home alone after a 6 hour drive listening to the book, so definitely does the job on the scar factor.

Absolutely! I listen to audible everyday on the way to and from work plus any other times I can and while listening to this I took the long route sometimes 😊Fantastic
