About this listen

Little Women, a literary treasure written by Louisa May Alcott, gives listeners a glimpse into early 19th-century America. Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March navigate childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood under the oppressive shadow of the Civil War. The March family endures heartache, illness, and poverty, all the while engaging listeners with their antics and moments of pure delight.

A beautiful story, so beautifully written and so beautifully read. The story begins with the four young March sisters and we follow them through their childhood into womenhood. Their friendship with Laurie, who was my favourite character along with Jo. They all have different personalities, Meg the most sensible, Jo very independent and forthright, Beth beautiful natured and kind, and I love how Amy developes into a very smart young lady with much wisdom. I sampled all of the Little Women books on Audible and I chose this one because of the beautiful voice of Nancy Peterson, and she really did the book justice, she read it so well. I thank Louisa May Alcott and Nancy Peterson for a lovely few days of listening to this novel, and enriching me with the story. A classic I think everyone should read. I also love the movie of Little Women with Susan Sarandon, I'll definitely be watching that again now. 🤍 📚
